Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Nice tire, good price. Quick delivery.

by:

Great quality product and great customer service. They make sure you have what you need.

by:

My tire installer told me this is a very high quality, heavy duty tire.

by:

My baby rides on your products. I've put a lot of miles across the hot desert on those little tires. So far so good.

by:

These tires worked great on my light duty John Deere as the tires that came on it had been discontinued. Delivery was quick very satisfied with my order as usual

by:

Fast shipping, excellent packaging and tires, will purchase again. Thank you!

by:

Easy to order and the tires arrived quickly. The quality of packaging provided safe arrival of the order.

by:

Arrived on time and was exactly what I ordered. Was also the best pricing I could find

by:

It just arrived. It won't be installed till next week but it looks good. Arrived fast!

by:

Received order 2 days early

by:

These are OEM replacements on folding trailer. Very satisfied with them as they were 10 years old and showed little treadwear and very little aging, just time to retire (pun sorry).
Happy that Kenda has kept same design over the years. Nice deep tread pattern that will continue to contact highway and off-road conditions.

Only about a thousand miles after 1st year, absolutely no issues. Just like the originals. Great product!

by:

Company that works as it should.

by:

I ordered these tires to replace the 26 year old tires on my pontoon boat trailer, that threw some rubber the last time I had my boat out.
So far have just had them mounted and put back on the trailer. They look good and the tire shop that I had mount them said that they looked like a really good set of tires. I have not had a chance to use them, as it in now November and I won't be going fishing until the spring.

by:

Fit my new rims from e-trailer perfectly and have handled several heavy loads already.

by:

I was worried that these tires would not fit. My Coleman pop up is 30 years old and they don't make that size any longer. I was also worried that there might be tubes. There weren't. These were supposed to be a direct replacement...They Were! First I called my local tire place and they didn't have the tires I needed so I found them at etrailer.com. I ordered two of them and they arrived in a large heavy duty box with the top stapled with 11 heavy duty rivets. I didn't have a valve stem puller so I took them to my local tire place. For $22 they removed the old tires, installed 2 extra long valve stems and installed the new tires. They look super and fit my pop up just right. Thank you!

by:

This review is mainly about the fantastic service I received from etrailer! Great price,
fast and free delivery on a large package. Thank you!

Now for the tires.
I guess they are pretty good considering there isn’t much of a selection for the size I needed. They don’t last much longer than 5k miles and or three years. I’m towing in high heat with no added weight. The trailer I’m towing is very light at 840 lbs. I had tread separations on two tires with 4-5k miles. Also, the trailer is stored indoors so there is very little exposure to sun.
Replace them often to avoid serious damage and or an accident!

by:

Great tire. Worked well in place of the discontinued Firestone 21 inch tires.

by:

Excellent quality tire. Product arrived within 2 days of ordering. Have done business with E-Trailer for many years and very satisfied with their service.

by:

Got a nail in the sidewall of my current boat trailer tire & needed a replacement. These are C rated tires where my currents are E rated, but since I have a double axle trailer for only an 18 ft pontoon, I am sure these will do just fine. Shipping was very prompt & the quality seems just fine.

by:

Fit's like it should but more importantly the company continued to update the tracking process. They had to order it from their supplier and updated me right to the point of delivery at my home

by:

I bought the tires to install on my golf cart. I wanted a heavier duty tire that was street rated. These are the perfect tire for my application as my golf cart spends a lot of time on cement cart paths or the street. Etrailer had the best price, free shipping and they were in stock. Great service.

by:

E trailer worked out great. I ordered the same tires my trailer came with and they were deliver packed in a factory box just right. Perfect fit. Thanks.

by:

Good Value,Used in Enclosed Snowmobile Trailer.Replaced as Preventive Maintenance do failure would not occur

by:

As usual, etrailer sent the product I ordered, in full, on time and exactly what I ordered. Their customer service never disappoints. As long as I need trailer, or towing parts, etrailer is always my first choice.

by:

Very good service , excellent actually. The inventory on the website is easy accessible, order entry seamless. Further, the shipment was executed same day and all notifications were emailed to me. The tire showed up at my door in a matter of a few days in perfectly packaged. Also , the company immediately, followed with an email noticed of the delivery completion. All in all, that other online retailer can not do it better.
Thank you, will do again.

  • Tire Pressure Recommendation for Trailer Tire Size 205/65-10
On the sidewall there will be the tire pressure recommended for it. There isn't a recommended tire pressure that applies for every tire that has the 205-65-10 size that you referenced. The part # AM1HP52 for example has a PSI rating of 50 psi. This is the only correct tire pressure to use with this tire. I attached a review video for this tire as well as a help article on trailer tires for you to check out.

In order to get the correct replacement tires for your 1998 Coleman Pop Up camper you are first going to need to know the size of the tires that are currently on your wheels. There will be a size listed on the side of the tire. For example the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP52 is a 205/65-10 sized tire. If you check out the picture I attached you can see where this size is printed on the tire. Once you know what size you have you will be able to pick out the right replacement...

  • Wider Tires for Use on Sand for a JetSki Trailer
You are in luck because all 12 inch trailer tires fit the same size wheels. I recommend going with a 145-12, # AM10130. It will have a section width of 5.7 inches, nearly a full inch wider than your existing tires. You will need to make sure that you have enough space all around the existing tires for the larger size. The new tires will be 0.8 inches taller and 0.8 inches wider. To go wider than that you would have to step up to a 13 inch and you would have to change wheels as well. We...

The 20.5x8-10 tire size you have is the same as the more common 205/65-10 tire size. We carry replacement tires in that size, but none of them are very aggressive. They were designed for highway use honestly. It's probably not what you need but check out the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP52. I wish I had something ideal for you that I could recommend, but at least you know what tire size you have to search for an aggressive tread pattern.

I would first start by checking the load range of your existing trailer tires to make sure that you get a match for the set; if you currently have Load Range D tires (which I would suspect with a snowmobile trailer) you'll want to replace it with the same. If you've got a Load Range C tire, you'll want a Load Range C spare. If you only need the tire, and not a tire/wheel combo, I recommend using the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP54. • Recommended Tire Pressure for 4.80-12 Load Range C Trailer Tires on a Jon Boat Trailer
All of the 4.80-12 load range C trailer tires that we carry are rated for 90 psi. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. this is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires to handle more vertical load. If under inflated the thicker sidewall generates excessive heat and can lead to failure.

It's possible that other manufacturers have different guidelines for their specific trailer tires, but all of our trailer tire manufacturers recommend always inflating their tires to the maximum psi as listed on the sidewall. This load capacity is only reached when the tire is inflated to the maximum psi, while under-inflating the tire essentially reduces...
