This is a great kit! It included everything we needed to replace the old, worn-out brackets on our 6'x10' trailer. The directions were helpful and the brackets and hardware are nice and solid. We've had zero issues with the leaf springs (purchased on etrailer.com, also) or the brackets. Would definitely recommend!

holding up great.

by:

I ordered replacement leaf springs for my trailer using the instructions provided by etrailer. The correct items were shipped and they fit perfectly! The mounting hardware was exactly what was needed. No extra parts were needed as in run to the local hardware store! The springs went in with no problems.
I would absolutely buy from etrailer again as their customer service was excellent as was the products.

I bought a axle, springs wheels, hubs etc. to build a utility trailer, I inadvertently had ordered incompatible hubs for the selected axle the person filling the order noticed this and contacted customer service to alert them of the issue who then called me to correct the problem. This saved me the time and expense of returning the part and delaying the project. great service, attentive, knowledgeable employees and great products.
Thanks E trailer.

Works as good as expected

These spring hangers worked great. My boat is back on the road!

Sometimes on older trailers the leaf spring bushings will wear out and the mounting bolts will get wear grooves in them. Its cheap to replace everything play it safe.

Everything fit perfectly.

by:

Parts are very good quality...delivery was fast ...price was very fair. Thank you

by:

I have purchased several items from etrailer and have always been very satisfied with there parts and there service. I have never had the pleasure of talking with any of there reps, because they do such a great job of describing their parts with videos and knowledgeable people it makes the job easy. When you live in a small town you can't just go down town and buy a new set of spring hangers or a new spring, but with the push of a button you can usually find what you need and it is priced fairly.I am a very satisfied customer. keep up the goog work etrailor

Phil, thanks for your business and your review. Since the required U-bolt lengths and diameters vary from axle to axle, the mounting components are sold separately. The U-bolt kits may be found at this link:

Thanks for following up. I used your product on a motorcycle trailer I was building for a trip I made last year. Im extremely impressed with the quality of your product, and also the affordable pricing! I had two Harleys on the trailer with a total worth of about $65,000 and we hauled them from Nevada to Ohio and back with zero issues and your product performed flawlessly. Thanks so much again

by:

After purchasing an order of springs, shackle kit, U-bolts, bearing kit and a new Pro jack for a trailer repair I discovered a week delay in shipping due to one of the items on back order. (Email the day after I ordered informing me of the delay) A call to Angie K. On that Sunday!!!! And she had an in stock item to replace it and had my order on its way Monday morning , Thank You Angie everything sent was what I ordered and correct. Communication was great and they did what they said they would, Good prices and free shipping on my orderThanks again

by:

I have not welded them unto the trailer as yet, but the parts seem to be of high quality.

Everything seems to be working fine. I have had no problems with the parts.

by:

Items were shipped quickly. All parts were clean ready to weld in place. While my project may have a long way to go, the installation of the springs was quick and easy with springs and the mounting kit from etrailer.

by:

Wow, the shackle plates were long, but everything is quality materials. The nuts are locking and bolts are hard. Nuts threaded on without and problems. took a bit till I figured out the after shackle hanger where it said Up was to be against frame before welding. Welded on with easy,no penetration problem what so ever

I haved purchased numerous products from etrailer, no disappointments ever

I used these to install new springs on my trailer. For the price, it was easier than ordering all the parts separate. They are not galvanized so I painted the parts. Parts all came very quickly.

  • Hanger Spacing Dimensions for Installing Double-Eye Leaf Springs on a Trailer
The Trailer Leaf Spring, 2250 lbs. 6 Leaf, item # e27SR, is sold as a replacement spring for older trailers and measures 26 inches for eye to eye, center to center. If you are replacing the springs and hangers you will need to use the same center to center dimension as the original mounting brackets. These springs are designed for a 4,500 pound axle. If you are building a new trailer you will need to determine the weight capacity of the axle you will be using and order springs and hangers...

  • Leaf Springs, Hanger Kit, and U-Bolts for a 2 Inch Square Trailer Axle
Since you do not know the capacity of the trailer axle then you can't go by the capacity of the springs. If the axle is rated for 2,000 pounds and the springs for a 3,500 pound axle then you would still be limited to 2,000 pounds. If you have the inner and outer bearing numbers then that will help to determine what the likely axle capacity is. Since you want to replace the hangers as well as the springs then it doesn't matter which springs you choose. If the axle does end up having a...

With the Redline 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e64SR for 7,000-lb Trailer Axles the correct nylon bushings to use are already included in with the spring. If you need shackle bolts to install the springs you can use either dry bolt # 166081 or wet (greaseable) bolt # 126B2. For a single axle trailer you can use hanger kit # APS1. For a u-bolt kit to mount your 3-inch axle to your springs you can use part # APUBR-8.

  • Should the Trailer Suspension Rear Hanger be Closer or Farther From the Axle than Rear Spring Eye
The rear hanger should be slightly closer to the axle (forward) of the trailer. If you look at the drawing on the product page for Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs, # APS1, you will see the rear hanger is more forward than the center of the rear eye of the spring. The shackle, then, is at a slight angle with the top more forward than the bottom. • 3,500 lb Axle, Leaf Spring, Wheel and Tire, Hanger Kit and U-Bolt Kit Recommendation for a Trailer
The Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # e43SR that you referenced is a 3,500 lb axle so you will need to use springs with the same capacity. For that I would recommend the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e57SR that you also referenced. For a single axle hanger kit you would want the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APS1. For a wheel and tire combo that you could run all around your trailer you could get the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Galvanized Wheel # AM32397. This would...

The 2200-lb-rated axle/hub kit # 20440I-EZ-60 should be fine for a 4 x 9 utility trailer. This kit includes 4-on-4 hubs that work with trailer wheels from 8- to 12-inches diameter, like # AM30040, but note these wheels/tires are rated for 745-lbs each so two of them can handle 1490-lbs, not 2200-lbs as the axle can. Keep this in mind as you load the trailer up; the weakest link determines overall capacity. Your trailer frame may be rated for more or less weight than these other parts. The...

On a tandem axle set up the center to center distance from the front to center hanger and from the center to rear hanger is 29-1/2 inches. When choosing between the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs part # APS1, part # APS2, and part # APS3 it will be best to use the one that has measurements that most closely resemble what is already on your trailer. For example, if your rear leaf spring hangers are 7/8" tall or shorter than you would want to use part # APS1 but if they are taller then this you would want to use part # APS2 or part # APS3. • Can a Rear Hanger that is Wider than the Trailer Frame be Still be Used
The reason that the hanger is wider is most likely because double-eye springs are 1-3/4 inches wide. But as long as the hangers you are using are welded to the bottom of the frame as much as they possibly can be it will be fine. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder.

  • Leaf Spring Suspension Recommendation for 42 x 48 inch Trailer
Basically you would need to replace the rear hanger with a double eye style hanger, use a shackle strap and then get the appropriate leaf spring. The lightest capacity spring we have is the part # e84SR which you referenced. For the price the best option is to just replace all of the hangers and use the kit part # APS1 which comes with everything you'd need and would work great.
