These are are direct replacement for the stock equalizers on my Dexter D44 4400lbs axles. They were very easy to install and have done a great job smoothing out the ride of the trailer. They are a lot heavier duty than the stock equalizer. So far I have been very impressed. If they last for a number of years I will be very happy

After a year these are still working great. They have done a lot to smooth out the trailers ride on the terrible roads.

I installed the EZ-Flex equalization system on my 2021 Keystone 5th wheel this past weekend, i replaced the RoadArmor system which had all bushings worn out in less than 2 years. The EZ-Flex is built so much more sturdier than the road armor and it has grease zerks built in for easy lubrication for longer lasting system. Very happy with the service i received!

by:

An excellent product from Dexter and etrailer. This definitely smooths out the ride of your trailer and benefits you, your tow vehicle, and your cargo. Online ordering was easy and shipping was fast. Thanks etrailer!

by:

I ordered the K71-655-00 which is for a trailer with 35” axle spread after a local trailer repair business up sold me the EZ Flex system, but put on parts for a 33” axle spread. Right at two years it started to rip the leaf spring mounts in half from the frame. After much research, I discovered their error and so far with the correct piece in place everything is happy again.

Exact replacement parts for Heartland Bighorn trailer and at the lowest price around. Thanks once again, Repeat customer.

Works good on my utility trailer. Can't tell much difference empty, but loaded (+/-5000#) provides better ride and easier on hauled equipment. Super easy installation

by:

Super fast shipping and great prices and quality parts

Haven't installed yet on my Keystone Raptor toy hauler but quality out of the box looks amazing. I installed the lighter version of these on my bass boat and it made a huge difference.

by:

Haven't installed them yet, but E-trailer/Carol C. was extremely helpful in finding the correct size and capacity equalizer for my trailer. I will continue to use e-trailer going forward thanks to their excellent knowledge and friendly customer service.

Great product easy to install.I have the rubber suspension for the 8000lb axel. Just make sure the spring bolts grease holes are facing the front are rear of the T. T. Before you seat the bolts put grease from the grease gun to make sure the grease will ease flow into the spring bushing and out side of the spring. Have not tried it yet.

We broke down on a Saturday near Cincinnati and couldn't find any parts, so I called etrailer and luckily they had a wet bolt kit in stock. They shipped it next day, which means business day, next day, aka Tuesday " thanks UPS ". I had the kit installed by a mobile mechanic and I was back on the road by 3:30pm.

by:

Had to replace the axles and decided while there, just do the whole suspension too. Got the axles directly from Dexter but purchased the suspension kit from etrailer. Replacing the equalizer was the easiest part of this project and if I didn't have to replace the axles, probably would have had it done in under 2 hours. Time will tell how well it rides and the tires wear.

by:

Have not installed them yet. They seem to be much better quality than the Equa-flex that came on the 5th wheel. Very happy with E-TRAILER and their knowledgeable staff.

  • Availability of 7-3/4 inch Equalizer Kit with 3-1/8 inch Long Shackles
The lengths of the shackles that come with the equalizer kit part # K71-449-00 that you referenced are 2-7/8 inches measured from hole center to hole center. If yours are currently 3-1/8 inches this change would slightly lower the height of the trailer but it would still work. To match the shackle lengths and also be the thicker style you'd need the kit # MR76ZR with the # K71-655-00 which is cushioned. Or for just a standard equalizer and shackle kit you'd want the # e99ZR.

  • 7-3/4 Inch Cushioned Equalizer Kit With 3 Inch Shackle Straps
We don't offer a kit that would provide the shackles you're looking for, but you could certainly piece one together using the # K71-655-00 E-Z Flex equalizer. We don't offer a 3 inch center to center shackle kit, but a 3-1/8 kit like part # MR98ZR which includes the heavy duty shackles, wet bolts, nuts and bronze bushings.

  • Dexter E-Z Flex 8,000 Lb Equalizers Without The Kit Components
Yes, you can purchase the equalizers by themselves from the kit part # K71-653-00. The E-Z Flex 8,000 lb Equalizers alone without the kit components is part # K71-655-00 for a quantity of 2. The equalizers measure 2-7/8" tall by 7-3/4" Long from center hole to center hole. The bolt hole diameter is 9/16".

  • Replacement 7-3/4 Equalizer and Hardware for Stock Trailer
I recommend upgrading to our Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer # K71-655-00. The rubber core minimizes chucking (back-and-forth movement) and helps to absorb road shock. It is a vast improvement over the standard Equalizer # TREQE1. Be sure to check the Bushings # K71-291-00 on your leaf springs as they may need to be replaced as well. These bronze units are designed to last longer than the plastic ones that come with many springs. 2-3/4" Shackle Straps # TRSL275 9/16"x3-5/16" Wet Bolts # 126B2

  • What is the Difference Between the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-653-00 & # K71-655-00
The difference between the # K71-653-00 and the # K71-655-00 is that one is a kit and one is just the equalizers. The Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00 includes the equalizers, shackles, nuts and bolts. While the E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00 only includes the equalizers and mounting bolts with locknuts.

  • Equalizer Upgrade Recommendation for Tandem 3,500 lb Dexter Axles
Hey David, thanks for reaching out! I recommend replacing your current equalizers with the E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00 which are compatible with up to 8K axles. These are a great step up to standard equalizers and while they aren't crazy high-end upgrades, you will be able to tell a significant different in the towing performance of your trailer with these installed.

  • Can the E-Z Flex # K71-655-00 be Used for Axle with 31" Spacing Instead of 35" Spacing
Since the eye-to-eye measurement of your current equalizer is 7-3/4" just like the E-Z Flex # K71-655-00, and the height difference is only 1/4" you can use this kit. The 35" spacing is the standard spacing that Dexter Axle usually has for trailers that use this size equalizer. I spoke with my contact at Dexter Axle who said that as long as the equalizer matches like we mentioned then this is perfectly fine.

I would be happy to help you determine if the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizers # LC696740 you were looking at will fit your 2021 Forest River Sabre 36BHQ, but this is not information that we have on hand so you will need to measure your current equalizers. The # LC696740 measure 6" center to center of the horizontal mounting holes so as long as that matches your current equalizers this would be a great upgrade option for you. These equalizers are designed for 3500-8000lb axles so...

  • Recommended Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer for 2004 NUWA Hitchhiker II LS to Widen Axle Hanger Spacing
I recommend using the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle - 5-5/8" Equalizers # K71-652-00 which is compatible with axle spacing of 33 inches on center. It is okay to move your outside hangers to give you more space but there are standard spaces that work well for tandem axle trailers that you will want to stick to. If you want 35 inch axle spacing, then you will move the hangers and use kit # K71-653-00 which has wider equalizers to make up for the larger spacing....

  • Dexter EZ Flex Cushioned Equalizer for 6k Trailer Axle
Based on your axle capacity and the dimensions of your current equalizers the kit you would want is the # K71-652-00 which is correct for the 6k axle you have and also has a closer dimension to the width of what you have now as it measures 5-3/4 inches. The kit you mentioned is much larger and would not work without having to move suspension hangers or go to a slightly shorter leaf spring.

  • Will Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers Work On Tandem Lippert Axles
Dexter components like the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00 you were looking at will work just fine on your Lippert axle, but you will want to make sure that the new equalizer has the same horizontal bolt hole distance as your current equalizers to keep your suspension geometry the same. The # K71-655-00 is measures 7-3/4" from the center of the horizontal mounting holes, so if that matches your current equalizers this would be a great option. Regarding the replacement shackle...

  • Replacement Equalizers and Shackle Kit for a Keystone Toy Hauler
To replace your equalizers, I recommend the MORryde Shock Absorbing Suspension Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR27ZR. These equalizers are designed for trailers with a 35" axle spread. They are slightly wider then what you're currently using but a 1-1/4" on either side will not affect your suspension. The MORryde equalizers are designed for axles up to 8,000 lbs so they will be perfect for your 14,390 lbs toy hauler. I have linked an installation video below along with a diagram...

  • Can 5-3/4 Inch or Similar Size Equalizer Replace 7-3/4 Inch Equalizer
It's not uncommon for a trailer with a 29-1/2 inch axle spacing to use either 7-3/4 inch or 5-3/4 inch (or similar) equalizers but the shorter ones are more commonly used with the 25-1/4 inch leaf springs, like the ones you have, designed for up to 6,000 axles. So, the Lippert # LC279687 could potentially work for you. Keep in mind that the previous trailer owner could have been using shorter shackle straps to make up for the longer equalizers. Otherwise, an equalizer that is too long...
