Equa-Flex Replacement for 2011 Keystone Cougar

Question:

my 2011 keystone cougar originally had equaflex trailair equalizers with 3 1/8 shackles, those units are now worn out. looking to get road armor lc696740 as a replacement/upgrade suspension, since it looks like later Keystone cougar/montana rvs used those. not sure what shackle/hardwre kit to get for mine, want to be able to grease things. should I get lippert lc52sv? moryde mr76zr? lippert lc64fr? What is the best choice to do the job once? thanks for the guidance.

You can replace the Equa-Flex with the Road Armor # LC696740 as long as you currently have the # LC279687. This Equa-Flex model measures 5-1/2" between left and right bolt holes and the Road Armor measures 6". This won't be too much of a difference.

However, if you have a model like # LC279688 with 7-1/2" spacing the difference will be too much to use the Road Armor as a replacement. If that is the case, you will want to either replace it with another Equa-Flex or you could switch to the Dexter # K71-655-00. Make sure you measure and verify before you order.

As far as the wet bolts and shackles are concerned, I would stick with the # LC52SV. This is specifically made for the Road Armor and matches your current shackle length. If you can't use the Road Armor and get a different equalizer then you can use the # MR76ZR instead.
