Video Transcript for Dexter Axle Trailer Hubs and Drums - Hub with Integrated Rotor - 008-416-92 Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Dexter 12 and one quarter inch hub and rotor assembly. This hub and rotor assembly is designed for use with disc brakes on a 7000 pound axle. It goes through a machine process which is designed to minimize run out and warping. Also, contaminants can't get in between the rotor and the hub because of that machine process. It's got a nice vented design on it as well, which regulates temperature to prevent overheating. The wheel studs, lug nuts, bearings, races, grease seal, and grease cap are all included. When it comes to the construction, it's a cast iron construction, which provides strength and durability, and it has an eco-finish, which is designed to protect it against corrosion and wear.

Again, this is designed to fit an axle with a capacity of 7000 pounds. Fits wheel sizes of 16 inches, 16 and a half inches, and 17 inches. The bolt pattern is eight on six and a half inches, and the wheel bolt size is 9/16 of an inch. And the rotor diameter is 12 and one quarter inches. You'll notice that the grease cap does have the seal right here, so this is ideal for easy lube axles. You can simply push out this piece right here and gain access to the grease zerk, that way you can easily grease everything as needed.

So the cap's included, grease seal's included. This has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches with an outer diameter of 3.376 inches. And then it comes with your inner bearing. This inner bearing has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches, or excuse me, inner bearing has an inner diameter of 1.75 inches, and then this right here is your outer bearing. Goes right in this area here.

The outer bearing has an inner diameter of 1.25 inches. And then again, you got the grease cap, caps into place there, and it does have that removable piece so you can gain access to the grease zerk on easy lube axles. And it has the lug nuts that will hold the wheel securely in place to the hub and rotor assembly. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Dexter 12 and one quarter inch hub and rotor assembly.

  • Replacement 12-3/4 Inch Rotor for Dexter 7,000 Lb Axle
The Dexter 12-1/4" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly part # 008-416-92 is technically classified as having a 12-1/4" diameter but the actual diameter is around 12-3/4". The 8-416 stamp you have on the rear of your existing hub/rotor also confirms that you have what is technically classified as a 12-1/4" diameter. Therefore, so long as the stud size (9/16") and lubrication type (grease) are correct then above will work for you.
