Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fair prices. Free shipping that is reasonably fast considering the distance, weight and size. Very easy to install. What took the longest during install, was finding a 7/8” open end wrench, that the directions said was needed, but after searching through tool boxes and eventually finding this wrench, I found that all I needed was two 3/4” wrenches. I like this hitch because you don’t see much of it sticking out from the truck and that is why I purchased this model.

Bought a 2011 Ford F150 with no trailer tow package. I decided to add the trailer hitch myself. I started searching on Etrailer and ended up buying the Draw-Tite hitch. The kit came with instructions and all included parts. I installed it by myself in about 35 minutes. It looks great and already pulled my trailer with it without any problems. Great Product.

by:
2010 Ford F-150

Excellent customer service. Very quick on shipping. Easy to install as stated online when I ordered it. It took me 20 minutes from start to finish. I can't wait to tow my trailer now without using the bumper hitch. It will be so much nicer. I will definately use Etrailer again next time I need something for my truck. Thanks to everyone who took part in my order. Mel R.

p.s. pics didn't turn out so good.

2013 Ford F-150

Received my Draw Tite Trailer hitch one day before the expected delivery date. I love how tracking of shipping was provided to me daily. Trailer hitch looks terrific and I expect to install this week end if weather permits.

The only draw back I didn't like was that the free shipping on orders over $99 made me think that I only had that much time left showing on the screen. What I didn't know was that the clock start all over again each day that I have been checking it.

I installed trailer hitch in approximatelu 30 minutes. I really like the way it is hidden under the bumper. Everything worked out just perfect. Extremely satisfied with everything

by:

Easy to install. Visually appealing, doesn't hang real low or protrude past the rear bumper. Don't look gaudy like some other hitches.
Performed with out any issues. I used it pulling a trailer every weekend for 5 months straight without any problems.
Recently I checked to make sure that none of the mounting bolts had loosened or that any of the metal had bent or cracked and found no probles.
Very satisfied with the hitch.

after looking for several months, I came across etrailer.com. Wow....was I glad! They not only had the hitch I wanted, they had it at the lowest price of anywhere I'd checked. Ordering was a breeze....payment was easy,...and the shipment was a day ahead of schedule. Installation took all of 10 minutes and the hitch fits perfectly. I'll definitely be using these people for any other hitch/trailer accessories I need and thank you for such great service!

4/25/2018

Thanks for the follow up. The hitch has been doing just fine...no “hitches” whatsoever

by:

Fitment was right on. Simple install with a jack to hold up one side. 2013 F150 came without trailer package and 4-prong outlet is prewired and terminates below rear bumper without slack in wiring. Purchased 18" extension from a big box store for $5 and its something you could definitely sell as I had to order an unneeded pin to get me over the free-shipping threshold. Overall awesome service and delivery.

I received my trailer hitch in record time and was very impressed. There was a glitch however with the product and so I contacted customer support and they were very helpful to arrange return shipment. They shipped out a replacement very quickly that was just perfect. It seems very solid and is a good fit with my vehicle. I will not hesitate to do business with etrailer again when the need arises!

  • Is an Aerolite Trailer with a 900-lb Tongue Weight too Heavy for a 2013 Ford F-150 When Using WD
To confirm whether it is safe for you to pull your Aerolite with your 2013 Ford F-150 you can simply look at the weight rating on the trailer hitch itself. If you cannot find it then you can contact the manufacturer to see what it is rated. Some trailer hitches have a weight rating that is increased significantly when a Weight Distribution (WD) system is involved in the towing setup. For example, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75691, which is confirmed to fit your F-150,...

  • How to Determine Max Trailer Weight for Towing with a 2014 Ford F-150
Sometimes the charts in the owner's manuals are confusing and do more harm than good. The best way to calculate the max trailer weight that your 2014 Ford F-150 can handle is by taking the gross combined weight rating (GCWR) found on your door and then subtract the vehicle curb weight along with any additional weight such as aftermarket hitches, people, luggage, and payload. The result will be the max amount of weight that you can tow with your F-150.

If your 2010 Ford F-150 came with a trailer wiring harness from the factory, then the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75691, will fit because the design of the truck was taken into account when the hitch was made. If the wiring harness was added as an after market part, depending on where it is located it may or may not interfere with hitch installation. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch so you can see where it installs. If your truck came with a factory...

First let's start with a brake controller. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. To install this controller in your 2010 Ford F-150 will only require the install harness part # 22292...

For your 2013 Subaru Outback the Draw-Tite part # 75673 would be a great option for you as it has a 2 inch opening and Class III capacities. None of the hitches we offer for your vehicle are rated for use with a weight distribution system. Usually this has more to do with the vehicle than the hitch itself. Since the hitch manufacturers specifically say not to use a WD system I can't recommend one for you. Instead you could use a friction sway control unit like the part # 83660 to help...

  • What Does Weight Distribution Mean when Selecting a Trailer Hitch for a 2011 Ford F-150
Trailer hitches are rated in two ways. The most common rating is weight carrying. This rating is for towing a trailer with a standard ball mount that transfers all of the trailer tongue weight to the towing vehicle. The second rating is weight distribution. A weight distribution system is used to reduce sag at the back of the vehicle when a trailer is attached and to transfer the tongue weight of the trailer to the vehicle and trailer axles, making the hitch capable of higher trailer towing...
