Draw-Tite 75691 Max-Frame Receiver Compatibility with 5, 200 lb Dry Weight Trailer
Question:
I have the 75691 receiver on my 2010 F150. My RV dealer tells me I need to replace my receiver with a class 4. I will be using a weight distribution system while towing a 5200lb dry weight trailer. It seems to me that one I have now will be fine since this one is rated 1200lbs TW and 12000lbs WD...Do I need a class 4?

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75691 on your 2010 Ford F-150 does not need to be replaced. The hitch is rated for 6,000 lbs and 600 lb tongue weight without weight distribution and up to 12,000 lbs towing and 1200 lbs tongue weight when used with weight distribution. The hitch will work well for you and you will only be limited by your truck's towing capacity as your hitch will carry more than the max amount your trailer can tow so you definitely don't need to upgrade.
If you don't yet have a weight distribution system, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # RP66084 which is a great fit for this trailer as well as the capacity of your hitch. Then you can use hitch ball # A-90 for a 2 inch coupler or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch coupler.
