Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

The hitch itself is pretty solid but the shipping packaging is terrible. Wish it was packaged/wrapped better for shipping. To avoid rust I painted over the exposed metal.

Follow the installation video and you can't hardly go wrong with this receiver hitch. It was intimidating but very straightforward installation. Very happy with the final product, I just wish it would have been packed better. A little bubble wrap around the sharp edges would go a long way.

by:

Performing perfectly. Easy to install. # friends installed the same hitch after they saw mine.

-1 for no spare parts and different size flange nuts. One was a 14, one was a 16.
Packaging was not great, half the hitch was hanging out when I got it.

Subaru

Subaru wanted $600 for a hitch and $300 to install. I found strainer on line and order a better hitch for half the cost at Subaru. I installed the hitch myself using the install Video from etrailer. It made the install easy and it only took me a hour to be ready to tow. Thanks etrailer

by:

Completely happy. Hitch visually looks just like the photos. Welds were all clean with no porosity or undercutting. Install was easier than 10 out of 10 difficulty. If you own metric swivel sockets or 1/2” drive universal with 12” extension; you will not need to drop the muffler for install. Install took me 2 1/2 hours. I like the higher tongue rating, and would recommend to anyone wanting a higher spec hitch.

by:

Nothing exciting about a trailer hitch and harness, however they are of very good quality and have served me well for the past year,
I was most pleased with the lady who took my order, the order was filled very quickly and sent directly to a local service shop who in turn called me and set up a time for installation. Great service from all

by:

Perfect fit. Great quality. Installation was fairly easy. Installation instructions could better quality. There should be a paper template for the cuts that need to be made in the bumper cover.

by:

Fits my Subaru Outback perfectly.

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Towing Mirrors For 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon
To tow a small tear drop trailer with your 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon, I recommend EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH34FR which will give you a 2" receiver on the Outback. The EcoHitch is also a concealed cross tube design so the only part of the hitch that is visible once installed is the 2" receiver because the cross beam is hidden behind the bumper. For the wiring, I recommend Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56040 which...

Both hitches are what's called a concealed design, which means that the crossbar is concealed behind the bumper, and the only visible portion of the hitch would be the receiver tube and the safety chain loops. Both hitches install in similar fashion, with the rear bumper beam being removed and the hitch mounted in its place. The Curt # C67JR hitch instructions call for the beam to be replaced so the hitch is sandwiched between the bumper structure and the trunk pan, while the EcoHitch...

Both hitches are manufactured in the USA, and are high quality. The differences lie within the capacities, with the...

The installation for the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH34FR on your 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness will be the same as on the 2022 you saw in the video I linked below. While your rear fascia does have a different appearance they both use all the same attachment points. I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 when you install the receiver. There is no interference at all with your back up sensors on your 2020 Subaru Outback after installing the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # EH34FR. You'll need to unplug them during the installation but as long as you plug them back in when you're done you will be in great shape. • 7-Way Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket for 2021 Subaru Outback
The EcoHitch # EH34FR doesn't provide an integral bracket for installing a 7-way trailer connector. We offer bracket mounts that usually work pretty well, which will use a pipe clamp to attach to the hitch crossbar, but because the crossbar will be buried behind the bumper cover once the installation is complete, that wouldn't be a good option in this case. The Curt # C58000 Easy Mount bracket would be your best bet.
