Difference Between EcoHitch EH34FR and Curt C67JR for 2020 Subaru Outback
Question:
What's the difference between the Curt # C67JR and the EcoHitch # EH34FR for a 2020 Subaru Outback?

Expert Reply:
Both the EcoHitch # EH34FR and the Curt # C67JR hitches are pretty similar. Both hitches would install in the same manner, requiring that the rear bumper cover and bumper beam be temporarily removed. The hitches are both installed so that the mounting flanges are sandwiched between the trunk pan and the bumper beam. This acts to conceal the majority of the hitch behind the bumper. Both hitches will require a small amount of trimming to the fascia under the bumper so that the receiver tube can pass through the fascia, but this will not be visible unless you're under the vehicle. Both hitches are manufactured in the USA.
The main difference is that the Curt has a slightly higher tongue weight and towing capacity, although you'd be limited by the 3500 lb maximum towing capacity of the vehicle.
Since both hitches are so similar in install procedure and function as well as build quality, I'd feel confident choosing the less expensive etrailer # e65ZR, feeling secure in the fact that I haven't sacrificed anything by choosing the less-expensive option. If you were planning on using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, part # 118467, and a ball mount/trailer ball kit, part # 989900.
