Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Easy installation. I lowered my spare tire just to make it easier. Mounted the hitch by myself in about 45 minutes including the wiring harness.

by:

Hitch looks sturdy and well made. It came with all needed hardware and very good drawing/instructions. Chose this model with webs to outside to provide more room for spare tire. Was able to install it by myself using jacks to raise it. Didn't need spacers on this 1989 Silverado but there were no middle holes in frame so had to drill two holes using 1/4 inch cobalt bit and step drill bit. Took approximately three hours to finish.

It has worked great. Havent had any issues.

by:

I had no problems whatsoever mounting the hitch to the frame of the truck. I should’ve bought it years ago.

by:

Nice hitch, came with everything I needed to bolt it up to my '88 C1500. Very happy with this for the price I paid. Especially like how well hidden it is behind the bumper on my pick-up. One year in, it is holding up great.

GREAT FIT, NO PROBLEMS, PUT IT ON MYSELF.MY BUMPER BALL WAS TO HIGH FOR MY TRAILER.ONCE AGAIN ETRAILER SOLVED MY PROBLEM.THANK YOU

1997 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

Tracking was phenomenal. Knew exactly when this thing was showing up. Everything was in the box. Did it by myself in my driveway in about 30 minutes. Blown away how easy it was. Perfect fit. Looks great. Picked up a torque wrench from harbor freight for the install for under $30. Just look at the instructions for the specific hitch you want to make sure your wrench hits the specified torque setting. Also had a question about exhaust set ups before I bought. Asked online and received a response quickly from etrailer. These guys are awesome.

1996 Chevrolet Silverado

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver PN:75099 is exactly what I ordered. The hitch is well made being of high quality standards and workmanship. I ordered it for a 1996 Chevy Silverado 1500 and it was a PERFECT FIT for my truck. I had to remove two existing bumper bolts and I took my floor jack and slid it under the truck then I set the hitch on the jack and slowly with my foot jacked the hitch up into place and started all six bolts then I removed the jack and proceeded to snug all bolts in a staggered pattern and then I took my torque wrench and tightened all six bolts to the proper specifications. NO HOLES had to be drilled and the spare tire DID NOT have to be removed in order for the hitch to be installed. Just think if I could do it all my myself ,then if necessary You Can do it too! Great Product, Great Fit, Great Price!

Easy bolt on installation, that’s all I got after all it’s only a 2” hitch receiver

It still holds a verity of 2” hitch heads to handle all of my flat towing needs.

1995 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

Hitch fit my 95 Chevy Truck like a "glove". It is heavy duty and all the holes lined up like they were advertised to do. Delivery was very prompt and loved the free
shipping! Installation was a snap; took about 40 mnutes doing it by myself and holding it in place with a floor jack while I threaded the bolts into the frame. Very pleased with product; I have purchased from etrailer before and will continue to do so in the future. Great prices combined with great products make this company a real winner.

by:

Looks great, Shipping was fast and installation was easy, using this for camping trailer (pop up) and motorcycle trailer, probably a little over kill.
Got the 4 wire metal adapter, it was just right for keeping wires out of the way. (wish they would include bolts for it) though. store was closed by the time I was putting it on, had to wait till morning. The hitch is very sturdy, pulled enclosed trailer to town and back, lot better than bumper hitch. trailer in now level, yay

1993 Chevrolet Silverado

Hitch attached to my 1993 Chevy Silverado K1500 like a charm. No problems at all, now to find the boat to attach to the hitch.

The hitch is still going strong and I found that boat to hook up to it. Cant go wrong with this hitch from etrailer.

by:
1996 GMC C/K Series Pickup

Hitch arrived within 72 hours of placing order. With the help of my 8 yr. old we had it installed in about 40 minutes. Time may vary based on age of helper. Since I was single-handing the heavy lifting I used a cargo strap over the bumper at the center point to make installing first bolts easier. This went on a '96 GMC so I applied some WD-40 to the factory bolts and let them stew for a few hours before removal. This is the fourth vehicle I've put an etrailer hitch on in the past 12 years - every one has worked like a charm.

by:

Easy Install Looks greatI install this hitch without moving the muffler out of the way and it was fine. I took my time and install the bolts in first starting with the furthest back hole and working my way toward the rear bumper. I started with the driver's side as there was nothing to get in the way and get a feel for pulling the bolts through. Once you get one in, the rest was straight forward and easy to do. I also bolted the hitch on myself starting on the passenger side first. It took 5 minutes of finessing, but once you get the first nut on, you are all set.

by:
1998 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

Nothing makes things simpler than good instructions and well made parts. Fast free delivery and all the parts showing up intact always helps as well. Love the install videos. Took me about an hour to install by myself with a floor jack. That included removing an old bumper mounted receiver and I was ready to tow. Awesome experience.

by:

Product seems fine (have not used yet.) There really are no instructions- just a somewhat hard to read diagram- but no step by step instructions with any level of detail. Getting all the holes to line up is not easy, but has to be exact. Lifting the hitch to the truck is not easy either . . . Tips/tricks would be helpful . . .!!

by:

Hitch is well made and fit like a glove. Install would be easier with two people but I got it done with a transmission jack. Total time was about 30 min. Instructions were clear and simple. Was unsure if my original spare tire would fit with receiver installed and it DOES!

by:

just what I needed for my truck. I can lower my hitch 4" for towing my boat.I would recommend this hitch for anyone!

by:
1990 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

The receiver arrived in just a couple days. Installation was easy and only took a few minutes. So far extremely happy with this unit. It is so convenient having the mounting plate for my wire outlets on the crossmember.

by:
1992 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

Product arrived on time. Install was a snap; instructions were accurate and everything lined up perfectly. With the help of one other person and the use of a lift, it was installed in less than 15 minutes. Could not have possibly gone any smoother.

1998 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

I installed this on my 1998 Chevy C1500 pickup. It is extended cab Silverado with regular bed. The only issue I had was my bumper had been pushed in a little bit by the previous owner so it would not fit initially. Had my neighbor hook his truck up to my bumper with a chain and pull it out and then it fit perfectly! No drilling, holes lined up perfect and took about 20 minutes. Highly recommend this product!

1997 ChevroletC/K Series Pickup

For a 1997 Chevy CK1500. No drilling. Everything lined up. Would buy from etrailer.com again. Fast shipping and low price.

by:
1992 GMC C/K Series Pickup

I've done several hitches so the installation was straight forward, easier than most. Took about an hour.

Good Product.

  • Hitch Options for a 1992 Chevy Truck C/K Series
All of the hitches you referenced with the exception of part # 13028 have been confirmed to fit your 1992 Chevy Pickup. The rest, part # 41524, # 75033 , and # 75099 have all been confirmed as a fit. The main difference between Draw-Tite trailer hitches # 75033 and # 75099 is the placement of the receiver tube on the cross member. On 75033 the receiver is attached to the rear part of the cross member. On 75099 it is welded below the cross member so that the cross member will not be...

  • How to Mount an Electric Winch on a 1993 Chevy C/K Series Pick-Up
I do have an option that will allow for you to mount a winch on your 1993 Chevy C/K Series Pick-Up but we do not have a winch mounting plate specific to your vehicle or the winch at this time. In order to mount a winch on your vehicle, I recommend using the a hitch mounted winch plate like the Curt Trailer Hitch Electric Winch Mount Plate part # C31010. As long as the mounting holes on your Badland 9K are 10" long x 4-1/2" wide apart or 6-1/2" long x 4-1/2" wide apart, then this winch...

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 Inch, part # 75099, will not interfere with mounting your spare tire on your 1994 Chevrolet 1500. The Draw-Tite hitch mounts to the frame rails, and does not interfere with lowering or raising the spare tire into place. To install the hitch it may be required to lower the spare tire as the instructions state, but our installers managed to install the hitch on a 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 without lowering the spare...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1993 Chevy C/K Series Crew Cab Dually 4x4 with Roll Pan Bumper
We actually have a few hitches that are specifically designed to fit models that have the roll pan bumper, but # 41528 is not one of them so it will not fit. However, all of the hitches for roll pan bumper models do require that the bumper be cut in the license plate area for the receiver. A model with a drop to go beneath the bumper is not available. A hitch designed for models that do not have a roll pan bumper, like # 41528, will not be able to install because the roll pan bumper where...

If you have a different bumper please let me know and I will recommend the correct receiver. This hitch is rated for 500lbs of tongue weight and 5,000lbs trailer weight. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 1989 Chevy K1500 Sportside Pickup
The best way to tell if your 1989 Chevrolet K1500 is a Heavy-Duty (HD) or Light-Duty (LD) version would be to obtain your VIN and call the dealer as they would be able to tell you whether or not you have the HD or LD version. Another way to tell if your truck is an HD or LD would be to look at the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). If the GVWR of your truck is 5,600 lbs then you have the LD version but if your GVWR is 6,100 lbs then you have the HD version. This information can generally...

You are right that there aren't any 2-5/16" hitch balls available that feature a smaller 3/4" diameter shank. This is simply because the higher weight capacity that a 2-5/16" ball provides requires a larger diameter shank to maintain this rating. The most common shank diameter size for this ball is a 1-1/4" like the Draw-Tite # 19286. You also definitely want to make sure you are using a 2-5/16" hitch ball if that is what the coupler on your trailer accepts. Using a smaller 2" ball would...
