Will A Trailer Hitch Fit Around the Full Size Spare Tire on a 1997 Chevy C/K Series Pick Up Truck

You will need to measure the distance between the brake line and spare tire, axle and spare tire, and the tailpipe and spare tire. You will need at least 1 inch of clearance at these points. If you have less than 1 inch of clearance the spare tire will have to be stowed elsewhere. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video showing the hitch being installed on a similar vehicle.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit, # EBMK4, that comes with a ball mount and Convert-A-Ball interchangeable ball system. For wiring, I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118315. This is a T-one harness that plugs in line with your vehicles taillights and provides a 4-Way trailer connector at the rear. I have included a link to the installation details below.
