Fit and finish are excellent. Installed on a 1999 Toyota Sienna without issue. No Complaints.

2002 Toyota Sienna

Fit-up on our 2002 Sienna was excellent and painless. This is one of the easiest hitch installations I've ever done. The recommended 3-3/4" drop ball mount put us about 11" off the ground, which was way too low. We switched to a 2" drop mount, and that leveled our trailer almost perfectly (we were aiming for 14", and hit about 13-1/2").

etrailer sent my order right away. The trailer hitch was very easy to install although I did elect to lower the muffler to make the installation easier. It is great for towing my lawnmower trailer and boat trailer. I also found the same hitch at a lower price at another retailer and etrailer lived up to their low price guarantee and refunded the price difference. What a great company !

Very easy to install since everything fit perfectly.

2002 Toyota Sienna

I bought this hitch for my 2002 Toyota Sienna. I love that it requires no additional drilling or welding, since I don't usually drill straight. It is perfectly designed for my van, is discreet, and is rated at the full towing capacity of the vehicle.

I plan to tow a 4x8 utility trailer occasionally for camping, biking, or other utility purposes until my budget allows for a 7-passenger SUV.

The instructional video was excellent for installation. I installed this hitch in the driveway with a handful of common tools. The installation took an hour, much of which was lowering and re-attaching the muffler hanger.

NOTE: When you remove the rubber hanger, remove from the muffler rather than from the steel hanger welded into the car. I expect that some future time when my rubber hanger needs replaced, the muffler shop will have to remove the hitch for sufficient clearance to access the hanger. It's pretty close-fitting.

NOTE: the bolts that ship with this hitch have a 17-MM head. Different from the 14-MM head that came with my van's tow-hooks. Check your sockets to see that you have the right size.

I got help just for 5 minutes, when I needed an assistant to help hold the hitch up to the holes while I set the bolts in.

It is solid and strong, lined up perfectly, and is completely tucked up under the bumper except for the 2" receiver.
I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I have owned this hitch for a year, now. It is still sturdy and strong. I havent noticed much rust - and that right around my rusty receiver. Its a solid, strong chunk of steel. The 2002 Sienna was one of the best minivans for towing right off the assembly line, with a good engine and decent suspension for a van. We have towed a 14-foot 1000-lb trailer occasionally and pretty close to home 100 miles.More frequently we have towed a little 4x8 flat trailer. That went on a 1000-mile camping trip and lots of local runs for plywood and moving the odd bits of furniture or lawn mowers or whatever.I am thinking of getting a cargo tray. Id be a bit concerned about scraping bottom in some driveways and subdivision dips, though. I would choose a design that will get the tray above the receiver without hang-downs, also trying to avoid interfering with the hatch. I havent done it yet, though, so I cant say which would be best. That isnt a concern of the hitch so much as the van, though.I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I have recommended the same to a couple friends with the same era of Sienna.

Perfect Design!
I ordered this hitch from e-trailer for my 2000 Toyota Sienna. It came sooner than expected. It was a one person job. I did not have to remove the spare tire and the muffler to install the new hitch receiver, but if no body help you, you will need two jacks. One is to raise up and hold the other end of the new hitch to align the holes. The other end you can hold by hand or use the second jack to hold it for you because it was heavy. Then tighten the bolts. No drilling required.

It works fine. no problems at all.

Perfect fit. Installation instructions were clear. Held up well to a Michigan winter, no rust. But on top of all that, the customer service at etrailer.com is absolutely fantastic. I called late in the day and the rep was able to get the part on that day's shipment even though there were only minutes until the delivery truck pulled away.

Still working great one year in. No signs of rust or wear - even with the salted roads in Michigan. Cant say that for the rest of the vehicle

1st of all, the price was very good compared to other on-line trailer retailers. I really appreciated the "how to" videos. This was a very easy project to complete. If you have any basic tools and ability, you can do this on your own. My only issue is that the wiring harness video just has you pull the wire under the back hatch (basically, the back hatch closes on the wire.) I would rather it be a bit more professional by drilling through the vehicle body. Maybe have two videos? One that is basic and one that is for more skilled installation? I can't really complain because of all the money I saved. Overall, I am happy with the price, quality, and speed of delivery. They also constantly communicated with me about the shipping.

The manufacturer specifically designed the harness so the connector would be deployed from the interior of the vehicle when needed. This way, the connector is protected from damage when its not being used. The rear hatch of your vehicle has weatherstipping thats thick enough that the wire for the trailer connector wont be damaged as long as you avoid the latch area.

2000 Toyota Sienna. It went on easy. No need to drop the exhaust. I have a Curt 5 bicycle carrier that goes right in it. I have hit the ground once in two months of having it on the van and that was my fault for hurrying through a huge dip that had an uphill drive on the other side. The only problem I had with the install was the washers that were included did not fit on the new bolts. I had some that fit just nice laying around at home.

Still working good. We use it for a bike rack for 5 bikes.

The Curt trailer hitch receiver that I received from etrailer was delivered promptly and was easy to install. At first I thought that I would have to lower my tailpipe, but I was able to maneuver it in place without lowering the tail pipe.

I am very pleased with the information provided by etrailer.

by:
2002 Toyota Sienna

Welds and workmanship on the hitch assembly is as good as it gets.
Only took about 20 minutes to install. The most difficult part of the install is lowering the muffler. The easiest way to do that is shoot some WD-40 or similar lubricant onto the rubber isolator/ hangers and slide them off their body support dowels with a long screwdriver or pry tool.
Note: Make sure both rubber hangers are installed on the body support dowels before bolting hitch in position.
The trailer wiring harness adapter conversion to 4 pin flat worked great, and had plenty of wire to make a professional appearing routing easy.

1998 Toyota Sienna

I installed a new CURT hitch on my 1998 Toyota Sienna mini-van yesterday. I like the hitch very much for the Sienna and relatively light-duty apps. I'll use the rig to pull a 3500-pound boat and trailer about a half mile from storage to water and to carry a cargo platform on 650-mile trips.

The hitch simply bolts on without drilling after removal of two factory-installed tow-eyes at each rear corner. If intended for heavier apps, I would use one of the hitch models that requires drilling because those designs are more heavy-duty.

Another feature that I like is that the front-end of the CURT receivers are open. I can't removed the hitch bar from the receiver on my 1995 pickup due to heavy corrosion between the hitch bar and receiver. The front of the receiver is closed so there's no way to get a penetrant into that space without drilling news holes.

Another nice feature for me is that only the receiver is visible from behind the vehicle. The heavy tube that spans between the frame is out-of-sight and hidden behind the bumper.

The install was easy with only two minor items of note.
1) Removing the rubber muffler hanger was the most difficult chore. After lubing the rubber-metal contact and trying to pry the two apart, I placed the flattened end of my cheater pipe against the rubber hanger and struck the other end of the pipe with a 2-lb hammer to separate the hanger from the bracket. I also had to use the cheater and hammer to re-assemble.
2) Intending to re-use, I cleaned and lubed the original fasteners that I removed before I realized that new, longer fasteners were enclosed in the receiver cavity.

etrailer's Curt hitch for my 1998 Toyota Sienna installed easily, looks great. I enlisted a service station owner with a lift to help me. We were able to install the unit without dropping the exhaust in less than a half hour. Looking forward to getting a similar hitch for my 2012 Sienna.

Ease of ordering. Hitch came in a timely manner. Installation was as easy as other reviewers have stated! Might require two people, one to hold in place, the other to install...but other than that-great!

2000 Toyota Sienna

This hitch was very easy to install on my Sienna. I have very limited mechanical experience, but with a simple ratchet set, I was able to easily remove the old tow hooks and install the hitch in their place. I didn't have to remove (or even move) the muffler, nor did I have to lift the vehicle. It took me less than 30 minutes. The only thing I didn't have was a torque wrench, but the next time I brought my vehicle in to get my oil changed, they torqued the four bolts down, no extra charge. I estimate I saved $150 by installing it myself, based on quotes I got. Just follow the installation videos and YOU CAN DO THIS!

by:
2001 Toyota Sienna

Trailer Hitch Reciever C13511 fits just fine. Took a bit of manuvering to get it by the tail pipe but it went on without removing anything, including the spare tire. A small hammer moved it into exact position. As advertized it took about 30 minutes save the final tightening of the mounting bolts. It took almost as long to get all the staples out of the shipping box.

by:
2002 Toyota Sienna

I could not be happier with this trailer hitch, both the product quality and the amazing instructional video. The hitch went on without any problems and in around 30 minutes. I also purchased the trailer wire harness which is really well made and also went in very fast. They even give you zip ties for a tidy install. I HIGHLY recommend this hitch, the wiring harness and etrailer for excellent customer service!

by:

Easy install. I got the trailer light wiring kit too. I would buy again. It pulls a 5x10 utility trailer for firewood quite well.. Sherry was excellent.

by:
1998 Toyota Sienna

I'm using the hitch mainly as a bike carrier attachment for my 98 Toyota Sienna. It arrived to my door in California under a week after purchasing (might have been as little as three days). I detached the rubber muffler hangar (pried with pliers and a block of wood). This allows the muff to sit a little lower and have more room to work. Detached the four bolts holding the original tow hooks and attached the trailer hitch. Torqued to spec. From the back, you can only see the square insert. Everything else is hidden. The insert is nearly flush with the bottom edge of the bumper--closer than expected which in my case, is good.

Start to finish, as smooth as could be.

This trailer was super easy to install on my Toyota Sienna. (It took me less than 30 minutes.) It works great and I load it up with the family bike rack all the time.

Great price and a great product.

  • What Vehicles Does the Curt Class III Receiver # C13511 Fit
The Curt Class III hitch you referenced, part # C15311 (as well as the other hitches that fit your Sienna) will fit the 1998-2002 Toyota Sienna only. When the hitch is designed, it is designed with a particular vehicle in mind. The bolt holes of the C13511 might coincidentally fit other vehicles, but because the hitch has not been tested on other vehicles, the weight capacity would be unknown which is why we only recommend using a hitch on the vehicle it was designed for. Instead I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13511 which is a confirmed fit for your Sienna. For a camper that weighs at 1,700 or less for your 2000 Toyota Sienna you wouldn't necessarily need a brake controller as that weight is less than half of the towing capacity for the Curt hitch part # C13511 that you have installed. The Curt # C13511 you were looking at is a great choice that will give you a 2 inch receiver that's ideal for towing or carrying a hitch mounted accessory. I really like Curt hitches because of the heavier powder coating they apply, which will stand up a bit better to nicks and scratches; this will be important in prolonging the life of the hitch and keeping it corrosion free.
