Very nice and not difficult to install. You will need a torque wrench. Also I had to have a mechanic re-tap 2 holes in my frame because the threads were extremely rusted.

2003 Toyota Camry

Last Friday evening (right in the middle of October) I finally installed this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver into my 2003 Toyota Camry. This is a Class II hitch but seems like a Class III one, very sturdy, and the installation was a success. I spend a lot of time cleaning the two holes on the driver side which were exposed to the elements for the last 18 years, and then I actually drove in three old bolts which I took off from the passenger side's muffler mount, and that was preparing for the actual installation of the hitch. I just worked by myself, as my young son is not too mechanically inclined and not interested in such a thing, so I used my own technique, just tied a pleated electrical cable (3/16" diam) to the rear bumper and then I lifted up and suspended the hitch to around the middle part of the bumper. Then I screwed in one bold on passenger end first, then tightening then cable, the screwed in a bolt into the middle hole on the driver side. I used two more bolts on the passenger side, and one more on the driver side. But I have an extra hole on the driver side so I reused one old bolt for the previously never-exposed hole and then tightening all bolts properly. Then on the next day I test drive my car with this hitch and Allen bicycle carrier rack which I loaded two bikes. On thing I noticed is that the lower hanging part of the hitch around the muffler tend to hit the asphalt when came out from a parking lot due to a dip in height (difference) from sidewalk to the main road, may be I was moving a little bit fast for the shock absorber to respond sufficiently.
(BTW, our bikes' tires are low in air pressure or just flat because these were not used for a very long while, since COVID-19 pandemic began, and we avoided activities at any public parks and other places, and because we live in a condominium-type of apartments, we were not as "busy bees" except to stay put in the "hive".)

The product is in excellent condition, and I carried my two bicycles with it using another attachment ed into it. The only issue I have is that my old shock absorbers in the rear of car failed and so every time I go over a speed bump too many here, due to many rowdy and uncontrolled drivers and so the rear edge that protects the muffler often scrape the ground as necessary. So, I will replace those shock absorbers soon.

2002 Toyota Avalon

Just installed it today, and it was fairly straightforward once I read through the instructions and watched the instructional video. Haven't used it yet, but seems super solid. I wish it came with the wiring kit, or that I was made aware that it did not come with one when I ordered, as lights are necessary to legally tow anything on the road. But, I was able to pick one up for <$40 at O'Reilly's, so not a big deal. I would recommend this tow receiver based on my experience thus far.

2002 Toyota Camry

It was easy enough to put on following the instructions to the letter. Has held up fine and have no issues with the purchase.

Hitch for a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE to add a bike rack. Paid for shipping, showed up on time, UPS delivered in good shape, easy to install and the bike rack fit. Very happy with etrailer.com and the Curt hitch.

After a year hitch for bike rack still working as intended and looking good.

The hitch was a great hitch, easy to install, serves the purpose.
One dislike the large muffler loupe would drag and upset my wife.

by:

Perfect. Exactly what I ordered and it arrived in a reasonable amount of time (actually 3 days ahead of expectation). It's an exact fit on my 2002 Toyota Camry. No drilling meant a quick under 30 minutes install. I will not hesitate ordering from eTrailer again.

I have taken a look at your order on the 2004 Toyota Camry and I see that the reason it did not fit was due to the hitch being flexed out of alignment. Since it was off by more than a half of an inch the hitch has been replaced. Thank you for reaching out!

by:

This is not a review of etrailer. it is a review of the Curt hitch. I have two other Curt hitches that I really like. This hitch would probably be ok on a Camry, but my install was on a 2001 Avalon to use for a bike rack. It does not clear the exhaust pipe so the exhaust blows directly on the hitch. I am going to have to extend the tailpipe a couple of inches to keep it from ruining the finish on the hitch. It also does not extend enough past the bumper. The other Curt hitches work much better with my rack. Again, it is probably ok on a Camry, but is not a good fit on the Avalon. I wish I had gone with the other option.

1997 Toyota Camry

20 minutes install time. 1997 Toyota Camry LE V6. The car frame holes in back(4) were already threaded to accept supplied bolts. No need for nuts or U bolts. I recommend cleaning bolt holes to clear years of dirt/grime. The bolt fitment into threaded holes will be tight but bolts are correct. Makita rechargeable impact driver made install a snap. Use anti seize if you plan on removing at a later date.

2003 Toyota Avalon

The hitch shop wanted $400.00 to get and install the receiver. I ordered the part from you with ease from the website. When it arrived I installed it in less than 30 minutes. I watched the short video on the website and it went right in. All the holes lined up perfectly. The only problem I had was my sockets rolling down the driveway. Great product easy install and great instructions.

by:
2001 Toyota Solara

It works. Trailer stays attached to the car. Installation was quite a bit trickier than expected. Some of the holes in the frame of the car were not taped with threads. After taping out the holes over all satisfied with the hitch as with all the hitches I have purchased from you.

Curt trailer hitch for 2001 Toyota Avalon
Received
my hitch quickly. Watched a couple of videos on installation and installed it in 15 minutes less than proposed. Took about 1:15 but only because the existing holes to be used were difficult to make usable,(mostly small amount of rust). When they recommend two people, they're not wrong. Just for holding in place for putting bolts in.
If you can beat the price, shipping and ease of installation from somewhere else, I'd be very surprised!
Very pleased with my new hitch!!

The hitch is still used with satisfaction. Its only used for small jobs. I recommend it if youre worried about a do-it-yourselfer. Its easy.

by:

I was anxious to install my new Curt trailer hitch when it arrived today because we are picking up the camper tomorrow. To prepare I watched a video on installation and was pleased that I was able to install it as quickly as the video indicated. It literally took six bolts. No drilling, no prying, no forcing. I am very pleased with both the product and the ease of installation!

Toyota Camry

Hitch works just fine, but I had a lighting issue. After installation, (flashing) lights on trailer would work for a few seconds then stop working. Toyota confirmed that the Camry was not designed to support additional electrical load. I swapped out incandescent trailer lights for LED set and now all is well for my 4 x 6 utility trailer.

etrailer has always been my go to for the various towing equipment and supplies I have needed over the years. Their reps are very knowledgeable and friendly and have always been helpful in me makethe right decision on my towing needs! Thanks guys!

by:
1998 Toyota Camry

The hitch and the splice-free harness were both perfect. I had to tap out the weld nuts in the 'frame' of the car due to age and rust, but that's typical around these parts. Everything fit great and works great. You all were a pleasure to deal with and I continue to recommend you to anyone looking for hitch stuff.

by:

I bought the hitch to mount a bicycle rack. The hitch is very low under the muffler. It drags on steep driveway curbs and speed bumps. The pin to connect the hitch to the bicycle rack is very close to the bumper making attachment awkward and only goes in a certain way.

Sears installed the hitch for me. They are familiar with Curt hitches.

I have removed the hitch when not in use.

1998 Toyota Avalon

Ordered a Curt hitch, receiver, and a ball. Also a Tekonsha tail light converter & tester along with a tote bag and ball cover. Everything fit well and the Curt hitch hardware was top notch. I reviewed the online videos offered by etrailer on the Tekonsha tail light converter for proper wiring. Videos were excellent. I just pulled my new utility trailer home and am very pleased. Highly recommend etrailer.

by:

High quality products with easy to follow instructions! I have purchased two hitches and wiring harnesses and have never had an issue with either.

Toyota Camry

Okay, so this is my second hitch from these guys...and they are terrific. My first hitch was for a Tercel (yeah, I know what you're thinking; who puts a hitch on a Tercel?)...and it took me 20 minutes, literally. This last one was for my Camry. It took a little longer as I had to drill a couple hole for my model, but everything else was a slam-dunk. They fit. You get them the right info, they get you the right gear. Simple. I can highly recommend them...and it got here fast with the standard shipping. Great outfit to work with. Thanks!

  • Trailer Hitch Fit For 2006 Toyota Camry
While your concerns about clearance are understandable, the Draw-Tite 24563 is not a fit for your 2006 Toyota Camry; the two hitches which fit your Camry are the Draw-Tite # 36336, which you mentioned, and the Curt # C12339. Both of these are going to be installed with a part that goes under the exhaust, which is the part that you are likely worried about scraping your driveway. I went to the warehouse to measure the Curt, and it was two inches from the bottom of the receiver to the bottom...
