Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2003 Toyota Camry
Question:
I need a trailer hitch for my 2003 Toyota Camry. It is only to haul around a bicycle. Is there anything I can purchase and install myself, without wires and ball etc., that is less expensive than whats on the website. Maybe a used, previously installed hitch. Thank You

We do not offer used trailer hitches here. I would be concerned about safety when purchasing a used trailer hitch. You really do not know how the hitch was treated or if there are any problems you cannot see with the naked eye. Some folks will overload the hitch and the damage can not be detected until it fails.
Also, hardware used to mount any trailer hitch is designed for a one-time use so you would also need to purchase the hardware kit separately to install a hitch that was previously used.
I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C12339. This is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. This comes with the mounting hardware. This hitch can be installed pretty easy. There is drilling required for the installation. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch on a 2003 Camry you can check out.
When installing the hitch you will need a torque wrench to secure the fasteners. If you do not have a torque wrench I recommend part # ALL944001.
If you do not have a bike rack you may want to take a look at the attached link for bike carriers.
