Nice solid built. I was looking for a tow hitch for my E93 , 2011 BMW 335 convertible and I have not found on any website. I was hoping that the BMW 3 series should work on my car and YES it is a perfect fit!!! I only want to tow a Jetski and bike rack so no heavy weight and this product was so easy to install. I did not remove or un-mount anything . It was just a snap on and tight the bolts. FANTASTIC!!!

First off, my early 2007 335i did not have the expected holes in the subframe to attach the horizontal bar piece. Drilling the appropriate holes turned out to be more difficult than expected because the bolts were 1/2", required a 9/16" drill bit for a clearance hole. This bit size requires a drill with a 1/2" chuck. So ended up having to buy a new drill to drill the hole.

Next issue is related to design. That horizontal bar attaches to the subframe. Well the subframe on our BMWs is connected to the body by way of rubber bushings. So a solid link between the hitch (attached to the unibody) and the subframe (which can move in relation to the unibody) is asking for trouble, particularly if you are a fan of spirited driving or have old and worn out bushings allowing for more subframe movement.

It's clear the hitch was designed for ease of install, but I'd personally prefer to spend the extra time to pull the bumper off and mount a hitch to the OEM mounting points (frame rails) now that I've seen how this attaches in person. Maybe this is standard in the aftermarket hitch world, but this hitch bolts ON TOP OF some existing nuts...

End of the day, for what I need it for (a 175k mile beater towing a utility trailer), it will do its job. But if I was putting this on nicer, lower mileage vehicle, I'd definitely look into a hitch that mounts to the OEM points.

I put this hitch on my BMW 335iX and it fit PERFECTLY. I was a little concerned about the fit because things are VERY tight under that car given that it's all wheel drive and has true dual exhausts but it fit perfectly into existing holes in the frame, bumper mounts and cross-member. It shows below the bumper but isn't obtrusive or ugly. We use it primarily for a hitch-mounted bike rack.

Smooth installation and very good fit and finish. No modifications needed like the Valley hitch.

Product works like it says it does. Installed it on my 2011 335xi BMW, it was easy if you have the right tools, despise it looking difficult. Took some time but it fits like a glove.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11756 is not confirmed by Curt to fit your 2011 BMW 335i. • How to Carry Bikes With 2009 BMW 3 Series Convertible
The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11756 that fits a 2009 BMW 335i is only a fit for the 4-door sedan; in regards to modification you never want to modify a part of your vehicle or the hitch in order to make something fit as it will not have the needed support, will void warranties and could cause other unforeseen damage. Since an '09 BMW 3 Series isn't commonly thought of as a towing vehicle, I assume you were looking for a hitch so you could use a bike rack and that is definitely still possible...

I spoke with my contact at Curt Mfg. and found that the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11756, will not fit on your BMW 335D vehicle.
