Do Curt Rockerballs of Different Weight Capacities Have Similar or Different Dampening
Question:
Comparing this model that’s rated for 3,500 lbs to the model rated for 7,500 lbs C40047 that has a 1” shank, is the shock dampening the same for both models or is the C40047 stiffer? I am considering for a light trailer that I pull down rough roads and would like to have the 1” shank model if they will dampen the same. Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The dampening is different between the higher and lower rated Curt RockerBalls. Based on your trailer being lighter I'd recommend the part # C94CR that you mentioned even though the roads you plan to travel on are rougher. This will give you the smoother ride quality over the higher rated option.
