The original aluminum fenders on my cargo trailer did not feature the same inner flat support as these plastic fenders. Someone sat on my aluminum fenders, bent them, and pulled them away from the trailer body. I had already used these Fulton fenders on my utility trailer with great results. Putting them on my cargo trailer was a no-brainer. I also added some deterrents to keep dirty-birdies from perching on the replacements. ;-) I've included photos from both trailers...

Still working great! My utility trailer gets more use. Those fenders have taken a beating for over three years.

by:

Attached are 3 pictures of your trailer fender F008554 installed on my wood trailer. I fabricated a gusset from plywood and attached the fender to the trailer with carriage bolts through the side of the trailer , through the fender, through the gusset and then bolted together in the wheel well. The fender is of very high quality plastic, was easy to work with and fit right into my black and red paint scheme.

I have a wood trailer with 15 tires. Are the wheels on your trailer 15 by chance? If so, these seem like the ones for me. It seems by my measurements that they could work for my trailer.

by:

These are beautiful fenders and the flat surface on the inside made them easiy to mount to my trailer. I wish I had done this years ago.

Still as shinny and pretty as new one year later.

by:

So far they look good we are putting the fenders on a used tow trailer that we are fixing up to pull my Chevy HHR behind our motor home. We received our order fast and so far are very pleased my husband just has to extent the mount bracket on the trailer before he can attached the fenders.

by:

These fenders look great on my custom built adventure trailer with 17" Jeep wheels. They do lean outward a bit, but there is tons of mounting surface on the back panel, so you can decide how much to shim it out. The plastic is automotive quality ABS, really thick and obviously durable. No complaint at all, these are a bargain at this price. I don't think without serious backing that these could be stood upon.

by:

Put these on my tow dolly after the original metal ones broke off from the abuse of unloaded travel with no suspension. These have held up fantastic and make it look better too.

by:

Put these on my ice camper. The metal one rust and crack with the movement of the springs.
These look great, have the back side support, handle extreme weather. We will see how they handle the movement of the springs this winter. They are light weight compared to metal which should help.
Will know if they are the answer I was looking for after the ice fishing season is over.

by:

Fenders are great for the price. I had to replace an aluminum fender on a camping trailer. An OEM was impossible to find. A mismatched fender cost more than this pair did. These worked out nicely.

by:

Very good fenders, they are build very strong easy to install... i just build a trailer from a old travel trailer to pull behind the RV with my Smart car on it... here are some pictures , Thanks etrailer

by:

Fenders well constructed ,& easy to install.
Finishing
touch to my renovated boat to kayak trailer!

by:

FENDER WORKED VERY WELL FOR THIS SPECIAL APPLICATION...AND AFFORDABLE....

by:

The product is great, well made and shipped in a proper container. The fenders arrived very quickly.
I was very pleased with the phone order. Melinda got the numbers right the first time, was very pleasant, and got the product shipped right away.

by:

Wheel wells made my home made trailer look pretty good.

by:

The fenders are going to work great on my smoker trailer good buy.

by:

Mark was helpful on the phone.
Product
delivered within the week
Everything was as stated fenders fit and worked well

by:

These fenders are very reasonably priced compared to the metal ones. The difficulty with theses fenders, when mounted on a Tow Master RM3477 tow dolly, is that vibration eventually cracks the mounting bracket and the fender loses support. When this happens, the continuing vibration causes the plastic fender to crack. While they're light and rust resistant, they are not indestructible. Be sure to check the mounting bolts for tightness, and the brackets for cracks, and these fenders will last a lot longer.

Product has worked fine for me.

by:

This fender is very strong and resilient. It can even handle being used as a step.

by:

The fenders our durable and look great! When put on the trailer with the current brackets the tires sit even with the edge of the fenders edge. Should have went with the 15” fenders.
I like the appearance of the fenders and I am looking to add the brake lights to them , soon. Overall a great product and they are priced well! I would recommend them to my family and friends!

Still on the trailer and doing well!! Over 6,000 miles and going strong!

by:

The fender installed easily by just drilling a few holes to match the mounting pattern. They did not need painting because the color and finish is fine for me. I mounting an aftermarket fender lighting kit too and that was also easy to drill those holes out. This was just a car dolly, so not a complex installation. I would do this again if and when needed.

The fenders are still holding up just fine. Finish has not deteriorated.

by:

Designed and built an aluminum 8 foot x 5 feet 5 inch trailer from scratch. The fenders (F008554) do not come with mounting suggestions. It makes it a bit difficult because of the extra flexibility of the plastic fenders. Hope they stand up to firewood hauling. I purchased them because plastic is light weight, lower priced and doesn't rust.

One year later. The Fenders are still good as new.

Great fenders. Got them for my 14 inch wheels on my Boat Trailer.
Very strong fenders. After fitting them up, I'm going to get them Painted to match the trailer frame. Love them and the fast service!

by:

I searched the internet for plastic fenders and etrailer.com showed up. I placed an order and received the plastic fenders faster than expected. The fenders are of good quality and will work great on my trailer. I had a great experience as a first time buyer and would recommend etralier.

After a year my fenders are still working out great.

by:

These fenders replace the broken fenders on my old uhaul car dolly perfectly. The measurements were right on and I was able to fasten the original taillights on t hff em. Very sturdy and well made.

Michael C.

2/26/2022

In good shape and has handled the elements just fine: rain, sun, snow and road travel. Has already towed over 4k miles

by:

They worked perfectly, though I didn't use them for what they were designed for. Much lower cost than the $700+ purpose built fenders would have cost me.

by:

The fenders were installed on a car dolly over 205-14R tires. They are angled because the mounting side is not straight up and down in order to cover the whole tire. the top of the tire is about 1/2 in. exposed. My mounting T bracket is perpendicular to the ground, Other than that they look ok when towing and the lights fit perfectly.

  • How To Confirm Fit of 14" Fulton Single Axle Trailer Fender with Top Step
The Fulton Single Axle Trailer Fender with Top Step part # F008554 is designed to be used with 14" wheels. In order to determine compatibility you'd need to obtain your wheel size which is the last number on the tire. For example, 205/75-14 indicate a 14" wheel. If you can provide me with the tire size on the trailer I'd be glad to inform of wheel size and fender options if the above does not fit or you can search our selection below.

  • How Does the Fulton Single Axle Fender part # F008554 Install on a Trailer
There are no mounting slots on the Fulton Single Axle fender part # F008554. The underside of the fender is basically the opposite of what the top of the fender looks like. The easiest way to install this fend would be to drill through the side skirt of the fender and use carriage bolts to attach the fender to the frame of your trailer. But honestly you can install them however you like. I attached a picture we got from a customer that shows how he installed this fender on his trailer.

  • Will the Fulton Trailer Fender # F008554 Work on a Master Tow Dolly Model 80THD
I checked out the master tow dolly 80THD online and it looks like the Fulton Plastic Fender, item # F008554, will mount to the brackets on the tow dolly, as long as the wheels on the tow dolly are no larger than 14 inches. The original equipment size for the master tow 80THD is 14 inches. Some modification of the brackets for mounting the fenders may be required, and the 80THD has lights mounted to the fenders, which will need to be transferred to the new fenders. • How to Determine Proper Spacing Between Tire and Fender for Clearance on 3000 LB Trailer
Great question. As a general rule, when your trailer is loaded to it's full capacity, there should be a minimum clearance of 3 inches between the top of your tire and the underside of your fender. This should give you adequate clearance for potholes and bumps. If you want to get precise, on an underslung trailer (the springs are mounted under the axle), you should measure the distance between the bottom of your frame and the top of your axle. • How to Mount a Fulton Black Plastic Trailer Fender for 14 Inch Tires
The great thing about the plastic fenders like # F008554 is that because they require the user to determine the best method of mounting them, you can attach them to the trailer based on what you have available. You can add brackets # PF775-BKT-2 if needed but ultimately as long as they are properly secured it is up to you. You may need to relocate or bend the lower bracket somewhat though based on the measurements of the fender.
