How to Mount a Fulton Plastic Fender # F008553 To a Trailer To Support Weight of Stepping On It

Question:

Looking at the F008553 fender. 13 tire. Does it require brackets to support the weight of stepping on it? Or...can you simply bolt the rear flange flush against the frame with spacers as required ? I know it would work as a fender this way, but I cant tell how rigid the fender is and wether it would support weight this way.

The Fulton Plastic Fender with Top Step, part # F008553, does not come with mounting hardware. Fulton does not provide mounting bracket kits for the fenders. You can use your fenders original mounting brackets or use the Redline Galvanized Steel, L-Shaped, Bolt-On Brackets, part # PF775-BKT-2. See picture to the right that will show the underside of the fender with the brackets to give an idea of how to mount it to your trailer.

I would recommend to install the fender with L-shaped mounting brackets to help support any type of weight that will be put on the fender.

I am including a link to a page of the mounting brackets we have for trailer fenders.
