2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Chevrolet Silverado 3500's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

Avoid tapping into your towed vehicle's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

Timely receipt. have not installed yet. but the instructions seem simple enough.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.

  • Wiring a 2012 Lincoln MKT For Flat Towing
For wiring your MKT for flat towing, you have a few different options. The simplest option would be a magnetic mount lamp kit like part # RM-2120. The plus for a system like this is that it's very easy to install and remove, although some folks don't care for the exposed wires. A second option would be a bulb and socket kit like part # RM-155. Installation involves drilling 1 inch diameter holes in the rear of the taillight assemblies, but no splicing into the vehicle wiring in necessary,...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2010 Honda CR-V Behind an RV Using a Stowmaster 5000 Tow Bar
Yes the Roadmaster base plates # RM-521559-4 for the 2010 Honda CR-V are compatible with the Stowmaster tow bar you have. A few other things you might need (if you don't have them already from the previous vehicle) include safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. For safety cables I recommend # RM-643 because the coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting you have some options. You can use a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120. Or for a more permanent solution...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1992 Geo Tracker Behind a Motor Home
I will be happy to help you out with your flat towing needs. The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the owners manual for your 1992 Geo Tracker. There should be information in the towing section or look for recreational towing in the index for more information on the specific procedure for your Tracker. The tow bar does not have a speed rating but the vehicle might. There are 5 items that will be needed to flat tow a vehicle: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting,...

  • What is Needed to Flat Tow a 2007 Pontiac Vibe Behind an RV
To tow your 2007 Pontiac Vibe behind your RV, you will first need to install a base plate kit. For your vehicle, you will need the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 3130-1. Base plate kits are vehicle specific and this one is made to fit your Vibe. I have included a video that shows a base plate kit being installed to give you a general idea of what it entails. Next you will attach a tow bar. The RoadMaster Tracker, # RM-020, is designed to be compatible with the XL series of base plates....

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 2001 Honda Accord 4 Down Behind a Class C Motorhome
You will need the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 1545-1, to start with. You will also need a Tow Bar. I have two recommendations. We have a base plate installation video that should be helpful, see link. First, if you are towing from a hitch ball at the rear of your Class C Motorhome, I would recommend the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar - 5,000 lbs, item # RM-020, along with a set of Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnects, item # RM-201, which allows removal of the tow bar without unbolting...

  • Can a 2008 Honda CR-V be flat Towed Behind and RV Using a Tow Ready/Reese Tow Bar 63180
I would actually advise against using Tow Ready tow bar # 63180 for a couple of reasons. First, this tow bar is rated for a maximum of 45 miles per hour which is fine for short hops around town but useless for highway use. And second there are base plates required, # 40602, but they are going to require major modifications to the bumper and need to be reinforced so professional installation is recommended. The other option is to use custom base plates # RM-521559-4 with an adapter # RM-025...

These are only necessary to instal if they are included with the base plates. #1208-1 that you referenced do not include cables. I do have an option for you but if you wish to use the Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Light Set part # 337TL257M you'll need to remove the seven way blade style trailer connector on the tow vehicle and install the included four way round as we don't offer any adapter for this. For an easy electrical hookup between your 2017 Thor Compass RV and the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 my recommendation is to wire in a 7-way RV style socket/plug combination. Since the dolly comes only with 4-pole wiring you will need a 7-way trailer-side plug like 8-foot # H20046 or 6-foot # H20044 and a junction box like # 38656 to install the 7-way on the dolly. On your 2015 Ford F-150, we have a couple options for you to choose when wiring your vehicle up for flat towing. The first option and most labor intensive would be to use the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 4-wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-15247. This kit includes the diodes and wire that will allow you to hard wire into your Ford's lighting wiring harness. You could potentially install the magnetic light kit # RM-2120 in the manner you have described. However, you would need to make sure the magnetic lights wiring is connected on the tow dolly side connector for easy installation and removal. Adding more wires to the 7-Way can increase the chances of a short circuit and there may not even be room depending on the gauge of wire used on the tow dolly. If there is no room or it looks like the wires for adjacent circuits could touch, I recommend...
