To tow your 2007 Pontiac Vibe behind your RV, you will first need to install a base plate kit. For your vehicle, you will need the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 3130-1. Base plate kits are vehicle specific and this one is made to fit your Vibe. I have included a video that shows a base plate kit being installed to give you a general idea of what it entails.

Next you will attach a tow bar. The RoadMaster Tracker, # RM-020, is designed to be compatible with the XL series of base plates. I have included a video showing tow bar installation to give you some idea of how they attach to the base plates.

If you do not already have one on your RV, you will need a ball mount (and hitch pin) and ball for the tow bar to attach to. I recommend the Ball Mount from Curt, # C45010 which fits in 2 inch hitches. For a ball I recommend the Hitch Ball, # 19247. The tow bar I recommended will only fit on a ball with a 2 inch diameter. We have numerous hitch pins to choose from depending on the Class of the hitch on your RV. I have included a link to our hitch pin page.

For extra security, you could also add safety chains like the 48 inch Long Safety Chain with 7/16 inch Hooks, 5,000 pounds, # 2118-348-04. Safety Chains are required in most states to secure the trailer to the tow vehicle in the event the trailer coupler comes off of the ball.

Last, it is a good idea, and required by law in many states, to have your RV lights wired to your vehicle lights. Many states require this because often drivers traveling behind you cannot see the RVs lights around the towed vehicle. I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154. I have included a video showing the installation of this product as well. If you are not interested in performing all the wiring the diode kit requires, you could use the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120, as an alternative.

Some things you need to know about towing behind an RV: You will need to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
