There are two base plates kits offered for the 1993 GMC 1500 pickup, but you must take a measurement to determine which kit will work on your particular truck. Your RoadMaster Blackhawk 2 tow bar will work with either kit.

The required measurement will be taken from the center point of the lower-most threaded hole on the side of the frame, to the center line of the rearmost elongated hole on the bottom of the frame. If this distance is 1-1/4 inches, you would need RoadMaster base plate kit # 131-3. If it is 3 inches, you would use kit # 131-15. I am including a picture that shows where the measurement is taken.

Make sure to check the owners manual to make sure that flat towing is not prohibited by the vehicle manufacturer.

If you do not have a lighting solution from your previous setup that you could move to the pickup, you could use a basic magnetic light kit like the RoadMaster standard kit # RM-2120. If you prefer a more permanent solution, you could also use the RoadMaster Hy-Power diode kit # RM-154 to hardwire the truck. Take a look at the included FAQ and typical installation video I have linked for a closer look at the process, if needed.

You would also need a braking system to complete the setup if you do not have one already. The RoadMaster Even Brake # RM-9400 would be a good choice, as it has a fairly simple installation and would be easy to move to a new vehicle in the future.

A Brake-Lite relay kit, part # RM-88400, may also be needed if you will be using a supplemental braking system like the Even Brake I mentioned. Check to see if the brake lights come on when you have the engine off. If they do, you will need the relay kit to prevent the brake lights on your pickup from overriding the turn signals on the motor home.

I am including some links on FAQs on information on dinghy towing and supplemental braking systems if needed.
