Question:
Could you outline for me what tow bar and kit I would need for a 2005 Toyota Echo with standard transmission and not a hatchback Thanks

For your 2005 Toyota Echo I recommend the following parts:
Use base plate kit, # 1167-1
Use tow bar, # RM-520 (instructions included below)
Use Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120
Use RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643
If you plan on doing a lot of towing, I recommend using the RoadMaster Universal Wiring Kit for Towing Vehicles, # RM-154.
You will need to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed. Having lights attached to the tow vehicle is required by law due to decreased visibility of drivers behind the towing vehicle. Safety chains are also require by law as an extra measure of safety in case the main connection to the tow vehicle is compromised.
