Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com Let's take a real quick look at this Thule Replacement Mounting Strap With Buckle. Now this is going to replace one mounting strap for the Sports Rack Explorer Cargo Box. And for your reference, on your screen, I do have the model number of that cargo box that this strap is going to work with. And as you know, this tightens with the integrated buckle in your cargo box, and this strap is one inch wide and it's about forty and three quarters inches long. And as you can see, it's black in color, and this strap is exactly like the one that you are needing to replace.
This is the direct replacement from Thule. So what that means for you is you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, fitment issues, or anything like that. Replacement mounting strap with buckle for your SportRack Explorer cargo box.
I bought four of these to replace the original cotton straps that came with my X-Cargo roof top carrier. The originals tore/broke when the we had an "abrupt stop" with another vehicle. These are heavier and a synthetic fabric that has held up well with rain, snow, and ice. The "pod" is used regularly (on a new van) for family and Scout trips, and is removed when not used. I would recommend an extra over-the-top cinch or ratchet strap on any brand roof carrier. Belt AND suspenders kept ours on the roof.
Perfect fit for my old era sears xcargo box that had the straps and rotted away.

My VERY old Sears X CARGO carrier needed new straps to replace the rotted worn originals. This is not something I expected to find available and thought I'd need to re configure the tie down. etrailer had the very obscure product (in stock no less). My only issue was delivery window and I had to pay an extra $10 to expedite the shipping to get them. But browsing the website was insightful and saw there was a lot they carried that might otherwise be hard to find elsewhere.

Once received, I attached these new straps to my X-Cargo and made the cross country relocation move without a problem. These straps were an exact replacement match for the originals. Have not had the need to use the carrier since but expect continued satisfaction for years to come, when and if I do.
Appears to be the part we need and of good quality. Will update after we replace our current set.

I just got these replacement buckle straps for my Sears Cargo carrier. They look good and sturdy. I did notice they are stitched not riveted like the original but it's sturdy stitching. Will be testing them this weekend on my coming trip but should be good to go. Shipping was quick and customer service seems very attentive. Will shop here again for sure.

My husband has yet to try them on our old Sears car top Snail -- the straps to which shredded several years ago -- but he eye-balled them and believes that they will work fine. We're grateful that they are not thick, that they seem the same thickness of the old ones.

Ordered two different options for my old Explorer car topper to attach it to my SUV.

Straps were the exact width required for the Escargot (sears) roof top baggage carrier from the 80s. Length of straps were more than adequate.

Works great! We take a couple 14 hour trips a year and these straps hold our snail on our car securely and withstand weather great after one year of having them.

Still going strong!
We got these straps to replace the disintegrating ones on our Sears X-Cargo. These work perfectly - very sturdy and fit perfectly as a replacement. I think these would be great for any 1" car top carrier strap as a replacement and we were so glad we didn't have to make our own or replace with a different type of attachment system.
The straps were perfect, I had located an old Sears car top carrier but it had no straps. Etrailer to the rescue, thank you so much.

I haven't had a chance yet to actually use the straps on the road, but I did attach them to my car top carrier and they seem very good, from the straps to the latches. Delivery was quick. All seems well.
These were perfect to replace the rotting straps on the older Sears Xcargo car topper I purchased second hand. Held the topper secure for our entire trip. Reasonably priced and arrived on time.

Replaced the original dry rotted straps on my car top carrier. Perfect fit. But as with any strap, make sure to check them often on trips as they can and most likely will loosen some.

One year later: still going good. I wrap the extra material length of strap around the buckled part to stop the reed effect of the strap at highway speeds.
