Today on our 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to take a look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System. The crossbars are RRVA137B-2, and the legs are RRSX032. I have the first one already on. I'm going to show you how to install the second one. What we have here, we have our Aero Bar. We have our legs that go to our side rails.
We have our two end caps, and we have the key lock that comes with it. We're going to just put our other leg on. And how we will do that, it slides into the T slot. There we go. We've got that on. Now we can go ahead and put it on our vehicle. All righty.
Now, before I put it on the vehicle, I just want to show, you can see over there, there's three dots. We're going to put it in the middle dot. It actually has set points for this. So we just want to make sure, we're going to put it here, slide it over. Do the same thing here. Now, I'm going to have to make sure that our crossbars are evenly spread. All righty. So what I'll do is find that hole and go ahead and start to tighten it up.
I'll just start this side, and I'll show you exactly what I'm tightening on the other side. All righty. Get started on this side. Now, to tighten this up, it has a little key area built-in. You just pull that up. I wanted to make sure that's in the slot.
There we go. It's in the hole. So now we'll go ahead and start tightening it. Once we get it nice and snug, go ahead and clamp this down. Go back on the other side. inaudible 00:02:51 this one down. Now, a good thing about the Rhino-Rack, you can find all of their accessories on our website, such as ski and snowboard carriers, bike carriers, or even cargo carriers. All righty We got that nice and snug. All right, I'm going to grab my end caps and my key. We're going to put the end cap in. We're going to take our key and we're going to lock it down. We put it in like so; turn it that way. Do the same thing on the other side. Turn the key to lock it. Now we're good to go. That's going to complete our look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System on today's 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe.Speaker 2: You can find this and everything else right here at etrailer.com. What's up, man.

Durable nylon legs with built-in locks let you mount Vortex Aero crossbars to your vehicle's factory flush side rails. Integrated handles tighten legs to rails for easy installation. Pair with 2 crossbars to create a complete roof rack.By far the best price/ value in a quality rack for the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, and etrailer has the best price on the internet. Have a look at the Thule, but I can't imagine that anyone with common sense would choose the Thule over the Rhino rack system. The Thule has far less carrying capacity and costs a lot more.
The Rhino Rack has the highest load carrying capacity among it's competition and is designed to work specifically with the mounting system that is factory stock- i.e., the factory rails on the roof have a 3 position mounting hole system that locates the Rhino rack and also greatly adds to the strength and stability.
I would add that when assembling and mounting them, pay very close attention to two things:
1. As shown in step #1 in the printed instructions, there is a cam that has to be inserted *inside* the cross bar, not under it. It takes some effort and attention to position it properly and ensure that the the cam does go up inside the bar when the foot is slid onto the bar, but you have to, the legs will not clamp to the cross bar if it is not.
2. As shown in step #3, the small pin on the metal plate of the leg has to go firmly and completely into one of the 3 holes on the factory roof rail. When I first did it, it was in a little, but not seated firmly, so the rack was not attached securely to the car, even though it was tightened down all the way. Glad that I looked closely and re-did it correctly. You have to wiggle the plate and pin until you feel it pop into that hole, then hold it there with one hand as you tighten down the lever to secure it with the other. When correctly fastened, the Rhino Rack has no play or looseness- it is attached very firmly.
Also, I have the panoramic sun roof on my Santa Fe, I can confirm that you can open and close the sunroof without any problems with the rack mounted- there is plenty of clearance.
That may change depending on which accessory you attach to the rack. This is a 2015 Santa Fe Sport.
I am doing a renovation on a house I bought recently so I haul a lot of lumber etc from the hardware store. I was concerned when I replaced my Cherokee with the Santa Fe, that I would not be able to carry lumber and sheet goods, but with the Rhino Rack, I can carry everything that I need on top, securely. Seems easy to get on and off, once you installed it the first time and established the position of the legs on the bars. I'll put it on when needed to carry something, then keep it safe and out of the hot sun in the garage when not in use. Probably a good idea to take a label maker and add small tags on each bar in a hidden place to indicate which bar goes front and rear- also left and right for each, so you can re-install with minimal confusion.
Fits perfectly. Installation requires focus. Getting that Aero crossbar mounted just right was a little bit tricky because of the metal cam engaging the slot. Once I wrapped my brain around how that was supposed to work, they went on super solid. If you don't get the metal cam in place - it will make it nearly impossible to get this mounted correctly to the flush mounted rail. Read the Q&A - its covered extremely well in there. I do like the lock and key but they are not the best quality. I think if someone wants to take it they could do so with little effort. So far, I'm quite happy overall.
A little tough to get on at first but these are great. The installation video was definitely helpful, thank you!
Just bought these for my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport And they look great! I don’t know why someone would pay double the price for the Thules when these look exactly the same. Great product!
Just got the roof racks in the mail yesterday. Super easy to install and it looks great on our Santa Fe! Can't wait to get the kayaks on top.
Also, this is the first time I've bought from etrailer and I will be recommending them to everyone. Customer service was amazing. Thank you!
I have a 2015 Hyundai Sport with the Ultimate Package. I ordered the Rhino-Rack SRB Leg and black Aero Crossbars. The rack was received within 4 to 5 days which is acceptable. The install was quite simple and the rack looks great against the silver car color.
Purchased the RRVA137-B and RRSX032 for my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with flush factory installed rails. Processing and shipping of order was prompt. Items were shipped inside large box to protect bars and legs. Installation was easy and fit was perfect. The Rhino Vortex Aero bars are high quality, with exception on the plastic end caps. The SRB legs are also high quality with exception of plastic locks. If possible I'm going to change out the plastic locks. Worried more about stripping out the plastic teeth. However, even with plastic locks the bars and legs are secure in lock position. After installation I took the Santa Fe on a test drive to listen for road/wind noise. Never exceeded 55 mph. No road noise at 55 mph. I rated my purchase 5 stars, even with plastic locks. The rating also included the customer excellent customer service and prompt processing and shipping.

Really enjoying my roof rack. Yes, its been just over a year since my purchase. Rack has held up great, no issues. Has survived numerous Texas severe storms and numerous high speed 80mph trips from San Antonio to Tucson Arizona. Rack does surprisingly well in high wind events and high speed. Simply put, install it correctly and it ll handle your everyday hauling needs. Oh yeah, it looks great to on my Santa Fe.
Just got car top rail set {Rhino-Rack} for a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fee Sport with a panoramic roof window.
I also added the Lock Set for the rails in a separate order and then the magnetic holder for the four prong trailer hitch wiring.
Ordering was a snap and they fit perfectly.
I am extremely satisfied with the eTrailer experience, and recommend them to all.

Nice to hear, Bruce...I have the 14 Sport with pano roof, and read a lot about most racks not compatible with the glass roof...You seem to be happy with fitment.... And, you can open the roof no problem, obviously with nothing hanging below racks, right??

I have since installed the rhino areo bars with the feet and a set of locks....works just fine, and looks great.Happy with my purchase
I've been very happy with the legs and crossbars we bought for our 2017 Santa Fe. The legs were hard to get clamped on (required a ton of pressure to get them to clamp on) but have been no trouble since then.

Still working great a year later. Ive mostly used them as a lumber rack for trips to the home store and havent clamped any shells or other equipment on top
Great quality product and very sturdy. The purchasing process was also very quick and easy. Customer service was excellent.
I was unable to successfully attach these mounts with the Rhino Rack Aero Crossbars to a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe with factory side rails. After four hours of trying with help from another person, we could not get them to attach and stay tight. I looked for help on the website but the relevant example was not there and I gave up and returned them. It appears that all these products come with pictographs for instructions. Universal but not always that easy to decipher in real time and place. The quality of construction was just fine and the price very competitive but that wasn't enough.
The Rhino-Rack Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars have performed very well. They are easy to mount on the vehicle and are strong and reliable. I am very satisfied. 5 stars!
It seems solid and looks great. I was hoping for a Thule/Yakima quality rack at half price but its too early to tell. It definitely looks just as good, but the towers are some sort of thermo-plastic versus metal so only time will tell on durability. I got one silver and one black rail so I'm waiting to do half of the install. etrailer was great and shipped out the missing black leg before waiting for the return of the silver one. The tower have pegs that match the rail holes in my santa fe so that definitely beats the other racks which just squeeze the rails.
Thank you, your customer service is exc ellent!
Easy to install, looks good. Haven't really put it to the test, yet. The sunroof on my 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe still works with the rack in place. Will see if that is still the case once the roof cargo carrier is in place. So far, very pleased
product is good but the instructions were terrible. took me hours to figure out how they went on. a video upload would be most helpful.

We do have a couple of installation videos available. You might check out this one.
I love my rack! It’s been a whole year of carrying my boat and the rack has helped up perfectly. No issues, no movement over time and mo rattling. I even take it through the car wash and have never had any problems. I would buy this rack again!!
The rack fit perfectly! Great service from etrailer.com. I'm a regular now.
No feedback on Durability but install was a bit cumbersome even with my mechanical abilities. Instructions were less than stellar. I had allot of trouble getting them to lock into the hole in the factory rail. They seem sturdy when attached. If install was easier they definitely would be a 4 or 5.
Fast shipping, advice on rack fit perfect, great service

Great rack, thanks
Easy install. One can do it yourself with no problems.
Rack is great. Not to high from the sides and not to short, so it looks great. Very sturdy and durable. Lots of room for luggage and other equipment. Only complain but not really would be when 75+ mph does make noise but not to much.

Nice rack.
This is the product that was recommended on etrailer as a fit for my BMW X-5, but when doing a search on the SKU I ordered, there’s a message that the product is not a fit. But actually it seemed to fit fine. I think it looks great. I’m concerned it moves a bit on the rail although I have it as tight as I can get it. Hopefully it will be fine. Furthermore, the directions that come with the product really suck. Not that it’s hard to attach, I used the video on the website to get an overview. I was disappointed that the top rubber insert was inside the bar and that information was not made obvious. I learned that by watching another video on YouTube after I ordered them from Rhino. Nonetheless, I’m happy with the purchase. It looks great on my X5 and was more reasonably priced versus the Thule.
I drive an older Audi A6 wagon. This Rhino-Rack product was very easy to install and nice and snug and perfect from day one. It's been a year now and the rack still looks great, no rust anywhere, no looseness anywhere - just a good, solid roof rack. The cross bars have an aero shape and therefore wind noise on the highway is not bad at all. And I like the rubbery strips running along the top of each bar, it's just enough cushion to offer some protection to whatever you're carrying and also those same rubber strips are just grippy enough to keep whatever you're hauling from sliding around as you tie it down. I recommend this rack, I'd buy the same one again. I even put the Rhino-Rack decal in the window. ;)

John, great review. I need the rack to carry my 9-6 longboard. Since my Hyundai as flush side rails. Im a little worried about uplift caused by wind getting under my board. I dont really want o see my long board sailing down the highway. Do you think the mounting brackets are sufficiently strong enough to transport my board?
