Hello etrailer fans, Steven here. Today we're looking at our custom DK Fit Kit for your 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Leg Kit for your Naked Roof. Now this is gonna be a custom fit kit. It's gonna let you mount four Rhino-Rack 2500 Series legs, sold separately, as you can see above my left shoulder there. And they basically will hook into the side of those legs and attach to your Naked Roof. Now zooming in here, I've got the part number listed up there for this particular kit that we're talking about.
You're gonna get the four rubber pads and the four door jam holders as well. So the fitting on these is very nice, very high metal steel here, powder coat construction. Very nice, very clean. You get two long ones and you're gonna get two shorter ones. Again, that's gonna grab the contour of your roof line.
It's gonna be a nice custom fit. Please check etrailer.com's Fit Guide and type in your year, make, and model to ensure you're getting the exact fit for your particular application. So again, these molded rubber pads are custom designed to fit the contour of your roof as well. They're gonna give you that nice hold, solid onto the roof and also protect your roof at the same time. Again, you're getting the four clamps and four pads.
They do have a limited lifetime warranty and again, they simply bolt onto the leg assemblies from Rhino-Rack's 2500 Series, and tighten 'em down for secure fit. I’ve had this rhino rack for over 3 years and it’s been excellent on long road trips to the ski slopes. A year after my purchase, I realized that I was missing the plastic coverings that attached to the end of the bars and called their customer service to resolve the missing pieces. I was impressed with their quick response and seamless delivery.
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
This has been a disaster, and terrible experience from the start. Original product Rhino roof rack ($188.00) misrepresented for sale, even called and was told all parts were included as "Open Box" item. Received item with missing parts and mismatched parts, then ET sent wrong parts (Legs) causing having to order these cross bars ($192.00) to fit parts sent (Legs). Now my $300.00 BougeRV ski rack - mounting base plates won't fit the crossbars. Still waiting for return label for original item so I can get my refund of $188.00. Three weeks later, still dealing with problem. I do appreciate Shawnee and EDW for their efforts in follow up service attempts.
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.

This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
High-quality, sturdy rails, but noisy. There was a pronounced and audible whistle driving with these racks at any common road or highway speed (with the rubber inserts installed across the top). I have since replaced these rails with the Rhino vortex aero style (change of vehicles and the HD bars did not fit the new car). Having used both types several times, I would recommend the aero style over the HD if you have the option.
Product installation instructions were fair, and that is the worst thing I have to say. I havent put anything on the rack yet as I just installed it, but I gave a good tug on the bars and they are SOLID. The product came in a reasonable amount of time, and the feedback for etrailer is that I got followup emails at each step of the process keeping me fully informed right up to the message asking for feedback.
Bottomline: etrailer is a great business to work with, and this product seems to be good too.
Tricky to rivet tracks onto car with a manual riveter but once done, a great solution for the car with ease of bar removal. My only regret was going with the square bars which result in notable increase in wind noise.
Thanks to Etrailer, I am ready to do some serious summer exploring with my 2013 Mazda 3! Rhino Racks, Malone top box, and Kuat bike rack!
I am normally a exclusive Amazon shopper, but etrailer gives equal or better service and has specialty items you just can't find anywhere else. The pricing is great also. This is my 4th order from them on this project and the response has been perfect and the shipping has been prompt. They even offered to take back an item that I did not need. I desperately wanted to mount my 19ft Kayak on my new RV and with some Rhino RT tracks, a Rhino Nautic kayak lifter, a few really heavy duty rivets, and some ingenuity, I was able to accomplish the task. I am replacing the current Nautic bars with the heavy duty bars. See the attached pictures.
Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.

Excellent Roof rack. Fits better than the factory installed racks on my Honda pilot. The Thule cargo box tend to be too far back on roof and interfere with the rear hatch when opening. The Rhino-Rack2500 was easy to install and helps by being able to move the cargo box forward. No scratching to vehicle. The Bars also great for loading lumber, No sliding!!
I got the roof rack mounted anyways. Better pics to come when it's all finished!
I did a little bit of research and decided for my money Rhino Racks was the best option. They had very high ratings when compared to Thule, Yakima and others. The assembly of the load bars and legs went pretty good although it took a couple of tries to get the measurements right. I did have a problem attaching the front assembly to the roof of our 2017 Honda Pilot. The front clamps didn't fit. They seemed to be too short. At first I could only see two variables preventing them from fitting. One is the clamp and the other is the bolt used to secure the clamp to the crossbar assembly to the vehicle. I finally decided to go back and read the instructions again and discovered a short statement (page 5, number 4), "The 2500 Legs will come with hardware assembled, however if the Pivot Nut is not attached to the leg, install as shown with the angled face of the nut facing outwards. " The legs were assembled so I didn't bother to check the position of the Pivot Nut. When I had trouble fitting the front full assembly I checked and sure enough the Pivot Nut was not in the legs correctly for installation on my vehicle. I didn't think I would have to adjust a part within a part that was assembled from the factory. Anyway, I popped the nut out and inserted it correctly and it all went together well from the point on. The black roof racks and Aero Crossbars bars look great on our silver Pilot. I have attached our ski racks to the roof racks and have they have performed as I had hoped. There doesn't seem to be any additional road noise and they are very solid on the roof of the vehicle. Overall, I am very happy with the Rhino Racks and would recommend them to others looking for a solid, well engineered and well built roof rack. It looks like it will be quick and easy to remove and replace each season as needed.
Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
Overall built quality of this Rihno-Rack 2500 series is great. I really like the way it looks on my 3rd generation Honda Pilot.
I was in a roof rack jam. There was a national shortage of the rack I needed for my car and our summer vacation was a week away. I went to etrailer.com when I couldnt find the roof rack anywhere else on the web. Another website actually suggested that they might have what I needed.
I spoke to Ashley E on the phone to make sure that I was picking the right parts. Ashley was very helpful and knowledgable. She helped me find the right roof rack and made sure that I received it in record time. I am a customer for life!!!
The parts were all high quality and went together easily. It mounted easily and have it on our Honda Pilot with a Thule box. Box does sit farther forward than if on bars on factory rails. I did have one problem, We put it together per instructions which called for one distance between feet for our bar but this was to short. We found a sticker on the ox saying to use one of the other measurements and this worked fine. We hadn't buttoned it up with end caps etc. just in case so wasn't bad. I would have also liked an explanation by the bolts holding the bar on were only tightened so much. They seemed loose, may bar needs some give? anyway it looks good and seems to be up to the task. I have the rack on a 2019 slick top Pilot. Didn't want the rails and crossbars nor the expense and I look forward to having a slick roof come snow season when cleaning off the roof of snow as we park outside.
I originally just ordered the Rhino-Rack 2500 for my 2016 Honda Pilot and forgot it needed the Custom Fit pads and brackets. Once I had both on hand (shipping was extremely fast), it was extremely easy to install. Just follow the specific directions and watch video's if necessary, and you can't go wrong! It fits like a glove on my car and can easily handle the specified cargo weight. And it was less expensive than other "name brands". Like every other product I have purchased from eTrailer, it is of high quality and the service is fantastic.
This rack worked out great... I installed in on a 2017 Ford F-150. We drove 6 hrs through wind and rain with a SUP and Tandem Kayak on top. It really took a beating in a storm the whole way. One bracket was a little loose and shifted because of the wind on the Kayak, but it held together. Super happy with Rhino rack!
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
This is my second Rhino-Rack. They go on very easily and hold the bikes/kayaks and even an extension ladder very well....thanks for a great product
