What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out our universal clamps for your Lockrack roof rack system. So, these are great for carrying kayaks or stand up paddle boards, and this is gonna go on the bottom so you can attach to factory bars, round bars, square bars, or elliptical bars. Let's check it out. Now, you're gonna get a quantity of four of these clamps that go onto the bottom of your Lockrack system. You're gonna take what goes into the channel normally and put it up in the top of one of our clamps.

Put that in there, replace the rubber pad, that's gonna help hold it in place. And now, we're gonna put it around the bar. You see that rubber pad on the top and bottom It's gonna protect that bar when you go to tighten down, so you don't have to worry about damaging anything. (clamp clicking) We'll also add our spacer up top. Now, it'll probably be easier for you to assemble this on the table, but I wanted to show you what it looked like in the end result and easily show you how to install it.

So, we'll just slide it over, match it up with the hole in the top of the Lockrack so you'll be able to see the bolt in the channel here. We're gonna come back with our 10 millimeter socket, our ratchet, and tighten down the bolt up top first, and then go back to tightening down our clamps. Now, we'll drop the bolt through the top here to the bottom clamp, and then add our nut. So, you'll have to hold on while threading the bolt. As you start to thread this on, this should catch in the bottom and you can come back with the five millimeter Allen wrench to start tightening down the clamp.

So, evenly tighten it down on both sides so that has a good grip on the factory bar. Now, these clamps are gonna come in a quantity of four, so these are gonna be good as a replacement part. Or if you've got a new vehicle that has factory rails and they don't have those channels to use, you can buy these and you still use your Lockrack system. Overall, I like the universal clamps, especially better than buying a whole new setup for a new vehicle. They're not too bad to install.

And sure, you need to bring a couple tools up to tighten them down but once you've done that and you've pulled the arms down, it's pretty much out of the way when you're driving around so you can leave it up there all the time and go kayaking or use your stand up paddleboard whenever you want.
