Hi everyone, it's Eudangelene here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'll also show you how to install this Yakima roof rack system here on your 2023 Honda Pilot. If you are looking for a premium roof rack that is versatile but also gets the job done and is strong and reliable so that you can carry on fun accessories like kayaks or if you wanted bike racks or baskets, well this is gonna be a system that I recommend looking into. This consists of two parts. You have your 60 inch JetStream crossbars and then you have your TimberLine towers for raised rails. For your Honda Pilot there might be different options for your roof depending on your trim, and you'll either see rails that look like this, you can fit your hand through. Those are raised rails or you might not see any rails whatsoever.
So if you see that, then you are gonna need a different type of kit for naked roof, but you'll commonly see this type of system on your Pilots. With a Yakima roof rack. While this is the recommended crossbar length, you can actually get some that are longer depending on your needs. Usually you'll get a longer roof rack if you need more overhang. So overhang is gonna be measured from the tower to the end of the crossbar before that end cap.
So here we have about three inches of clearance. Now we can adjust this back and forth. So depending on where you mount this, that might change a little. But this is good all around clearance for maybe getting things onto your roof. It's easier to reach if it sticks further out or some types of accessories like kayak carriers require a specific amount of overhang for them to work properly.
Since you have raise rails, you also have as much crossbar spread as you want. Crossbar spread is the measurement from one crossbar to another. Usually you'll want it at 28 to 32 inches for a good versatile fit. I currently have it at 36 inches, which is pretty far apart for most applications. The maximum length we can put this apart is gonna be up to 48 inches or four feet.
So that's a lot of wiggle room back and forth to get the best fit for your different accessories. But also on your car. For height clearances, there's two. One is gonna be the distance from the roof to the bottom of the bar. The other is gonna be the height of the crossbar. So first we're gonna do this from the roof to the bar and I have it at about three and a half inches at that highest point. That's plenty of space for most heights of clamps, whether it's U-bolts or objects that have clamps that just go around that crossbar. The next measurement is gonna be the height added to the roof. So from that top point to the top of the crossbar, it's gonna be around four and a half inches. That's where your cargo sits, which is again a really good clearance. So imagine you have skis with extra tall bindings, you wanna make sure that those bindings don't hit your roof and then you can get accessories that give you height if they do. And next thing you can look at is that this crossbar has channels. So if you wanted to mount your T-Track mounted accessories, you can utilize the entire crossbar system. You then won't be limited by the towers. Items that have clamps have to go either on the inside or on the overhang. T-Track mounted accessories can use the entire 60 inches of your crossbar. This is a kit with two parts, so you have those JetStream bars that have those channels on top. You can also get different types of crossbars depending on the features that you need. These are gonna be the most versatile ones that you can find. And then you have your TimberLine towers as a second part of the kit. These towers are designed to fit with your Pilot's raised rails. So both of them work together for a whole system that fits your vehicle. And the final thing that's not included, but I do recommend looking into, our Same Key System lock cores. You are gonna need four lock cores if you wanna lock down all four towers. But if you are using other Yakima accessories, you might wanna look into if those have lock cores too, so that you can get a larger bundle to cover both your roof rack and your accessories. If you use our fit guide here at etrailer.com where you put in your year, make, model, in our case 2023 Honda Pilot, then you can select from all the different roof racks that are fit for your car. You can find this kit with those different options for crossbars and then that way mix and match for whatever works best for your adventures. If you want a strong, premium and heavy duty roof rack that's also very versatile, this is gonna be a good option for you. If you want something that offers similar features but maybe a slightly lower price point, check out the Inno roof rack with the arrow bars. Those are also gonna have channels and a similar design, just they utilize a different locking system so they won't work with your other Yakima accessories, four locks. But with all that being said, I like the Yakima roof rack. I recommend it. Check out this install, which will show you how to get it onto your roof. The installation is very simple. Once you have this all set up for your crossbar, since it's just wraps around your rails is simply a matter of putting your crossbar system on your rails and tightening down. Now I'm gonna show you how to get the crossbar set up. Your adapter pieces are gonna change depending on what types of bars you have. Today we have the JetStream bars, which utilize this plastic plate, and then we have a metal plate that goes up and over it. In order to get that attached as well as tightened down, you're gonna have to get access to the hole underneath the tower. Using the tool included with your kit, you are gonna first loosen that bolt there in order to attach that plate. And once that plate is threaded on, you're gonna keep it loosely threaded. Don't tighten it down all the way just yet. That way once you remove the end cap from the crossbar, you can then slide your tower on through. You'll slide your towers to where your rough estimate of where your rails on your roof are gonna be. You'll still be able to make those adjustments. But the thing to keep an eye out for is just make sure you have the straps facing the right way with them on the inside and open on the outside. We're then going to secure our tower with our tool. Tighten that middle bolt down until your torque tool clicks. What you are gonna leave free is the bolt up front because this will allow you to still adjust your tower back and forth when you're on your roof. You want to know where you're going to be putting your crossbars ahead of time, or at least has a good idea for this. On your rails, you're gonna have different sections, so you want your front crossbar in the front section, the rear crossbar in the rear section. Some people like to line it up with the holes that are already there on the rails. I like to push across, whereas a little bit more forward just to fully utilize this space for longer items. But it's totally up to you. Once you have your roof rack in that area, there's two things we'll measure. First is distance from one bar to another. Make sure that's the same on both sides. And the second is a distance from the tower to the end of the crossbar. Make sure that's the same on both sides. And then you know it's evenly distributed once you right. Once you've decided on your spot, secure that spot by securing the strap. So if this bolt right here is long or loose enough, you can then pull the strap out and fit it around the tab and then you tighten that down. So first we're gonna secure the top bolt to tighten the tower to our crossbar in this position. And then once that's secure, you then go to this bottom bolt, which will secure the tower to our rail. Both of those bolts are gonna have a torque setting. So click all four towers and make sure all of them are not over tightened. But tighten down enough. To top it off, put your end caps in. These just fit in this tower. Click into place. If you have purchased Same Key System lock cores, now's the time to switch those out. I like to give all the crossbar a good old shake test just to make sure everything is secure. But other than that, that's it for your install of your towers. From this point forward, it's just loosening one bolt in order to remove each bar system. And now you can load this up and enjoy your adventures. That was a look at our Yakima Roof Rack System with a 60 inch long JetStream bars and the TimberLine towers for raised rails here on your 2023 Honda Pilot.

Heavy-duty crossbars mount to Yakima towers to create an aftermarket roof rack. Top and bottom channels let you add channel-mount accessories. Tie-down points in endcaps let you easily secure cargo.etrailer was a great place to order, quick and easy. Yakima products however are over priced and overly complicated.
Great product, as are all Yakima products,in my opinion. These are on a Yakima system installed on my Diamond Back tonneau cover. Very pleased with them
We purchased the rack 5 weeks in advance of our up and coming trip. (Rack is amazing FYI). However, The website states free shipping over a certain amount. Weeks went by with notifications nothing was sent and the order kept being pushed back.
Once I called I was told those who chose to purchase shipping vs opting for the free shipping got their orders firsts; everyone else fell to the bottom. After waiting a month for “free shipping” I opted to have paid shipping and I received the rack within days.
While this company has many products I could use, I refuse to use them again because what is advertised is NOT what they ethically hold themselves accountable too.
These adapters were easy to install and made my system fit together nicely.
Really Easy to Install! Solid and Strong amount to Roof Rack.
Your service is nothing short of excellent! Thank you
I had a difficult time identifying whether these were the correct adapters for the rack towers that I was purchasing to fit my tracks but that has more to do with yakima doing everything a-la-cart instead of having kits that include everything you need if I hadn't already had the HD bars on my other rack and wanted to be able to transfer them to this rack I probably wouldn't have went to this expense because I think they are overpriced.AS far as etrailer is concerned I always receive great service and products and they are always well packaged and never damaged by poor delivery care and always fast delivery speed.
While putting the roof racks together, one needs to pay close attention to the detailed instructions; but, so far, the equipment is working well with a good fit on my Toyota highlander—I’ve traveled some 1000 miles so far.
Yakima OverHaul HD is built tough, sturdy, light but heave duty, well designed, easy to install and remove by leaving the locking base on the track. The height can be adjusted easily to a desired height to fit just right. The "bonus" is a beer bottle opener on each rail :)
Customer service at etrailer is excellent! Always responsive, immediately reply to help with any questions. Tayler K. was my sales representative, she's been super!
Great product and even better was the service with etrailer! These guys make it happen and delivery was super fast. Thanks for a fantastic experience, will be a return customer.

These are some heavy duty crossbars.
Owned several surfboard racks in 45 years and these are by far the best.
Great tie downs also.
Required for Yakima HD crossbars using timberland tower system.
Great company. Fast delivery.
Solid and well engineered product. Trevor provided excellent support and service in selecting and ordering to ensure the right solution.
Great product. Great service.
Worked great
The fit is good on the 22 Wilderness but there is definitely wind noise and I will add a diverter soon.
The roof rack works well. The only problem I have is noise and while I'm carrying a ladder there is none. I figured if I take the ladder off I'll split a piece of pvc pipe and mount that on the front of it. But they work well for what I needed for work. The service from etrailer was excellant. I dealt with Carol and she did a very good job in helping me.
I choose etrailer simply because they mailed to APO. I’m a AD SM, and a lot of companies don’t shop to APO. As soon as I ordered my product, I received an email as a courtesy from etrailer letting me know I had an individual that would be tracking my product every step of the way, reassuring a smooth process. Their site functionality was easy, their customer service was great. I wanted to know if they had bike racks that would fit my cross bars, I got a email right away with a suggestion and a link that would fit my needs. I’ll definitely order from etrailer if I ever need to again.
This part adapted like no other adapter
SIMPLE & EASY!
These Yakima HD SL adapters are necessary to connect HD crossbars with Skyline Towers. This style is somewhat difficult to locate but Etrailer had them in stock, no waiting.
Have worked quite well for what we need. Very happy.
