Note: Tie-down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these etrailer ratchet straps with the S hooks on the end. Now this one is gonna be 15 feet and they're gonna be two inches wide. Let's check them out. Ratchet straps are gonna be a good idea to help you strap anything down to your trailer and make sure that is secured tightly. You see I can shake the whole trailer back and forth because this was able to pull tension down on the strap onto our cargo to make sure it's not moving.
With it loosened up, I can show you the vinyl coated S hook. It's even got a spring loaded keeper here so that keeps this connected to our tie down point. So even if it's loose and we're getting things set up, it's not gonna fall off there. Around the loop where the vinyl S hook is connected you're gonna see the double stitching. It's reinforced 'cause this is where a lot of the tension's gonna be on the strap.
So it's good to know that it won't break here. It is made out of a polyester webbing, so it's a seatbelt-like material, so it's not gonna just rip easily. Getting to the ratchet mechanism. We're gonna run the strap right through the center and pull up our extra strap since it's gonna come in two parts when you get it. I like the ratchet mechanism just because there's so much room for my hand there.
I can get my whole hand around the handle. So when you go to tighten it up and lift up on there, it's just rubber coated as well. So I'm not just grabbing the metal with my hand. You just ratchet strap this up until it gets tight and you see that tension being put on our cargo and you set it back down into place and it's that easy. When you're done, tighten it down on your cargo.
You can just tie up the extra strap and you don't want that flapping around on the trailer when you're driving down the road. I'd like to just tie it up to itself to keep it in place. These straps are gonna have a safe working load limit of 700 pounds. They're gonna have a break strength of 2,100 pounds so just keep that in mind with what you want to haul. The S hook can be rarely versatile. You see we have another accessory from etrailer that goes into the E-track here giving us this tie down loop that we can run that through on our E-track that's already on the trailer. Now you could go to the side of the trailer, attach this, just the same too. Now these coming in a quantity of one or you can get a quantity of two. We always suggest you have two straps on whatever you're hauling down the road just to make it safe. Overall, I really like these ratchet straps. They're really easy to use to set up, to strap down your cargo, to make sure that it doesn't move at all on the trailer. They don't take up a lot of space when you roll them up to store them either so it's always nice to have them around just in case. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helps.
