Note: Tie-down chains must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the chains being used. For example, if you are using chains with a WLL of 4,000 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 8,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 chains to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use chains in pairs.

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Durabilt 5/16 inch by 12 foot long transport chain with the grab and the slip hooks. Has a 4,700 pound working load limit. Now, this transport chain with the integrated hooks is ideal for securing heavy loads. It's ideal for load binding, tie-downs, towing, and even logging applications.
Want to zoom in and show you, it has a grade 70 heat-treated carbon steel, which is very durable. And if you notice, it's a yellow zinc plating on it to resist corrosion. Now, on one end, they do have the grab hook. This makes it very easy to connect to an anchor point. The grab hooks have the open design without the safety latch.
And on the other end is the slip hook, which creates a nice secure connection. The slip hooks will have the closed design with the safety latch on it. Now, this chain is manufactured to NACM, CCMTA, and Department of Transportation requirements. Total length on this is 12 feet. Safe working load limit is 4,700 pounds.
It is a grade G70 chain, and the link thickness on this is 5/16 of an inch. Now, one note I do wanna mention on the working load limit is tie-down chains like these must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the chains that are being used. So, for an example, if you're using chains that have a working load limit of 4,000 pounds each and you're gonna tie down a load weighing 8,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two chains to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended to use chains in pairs.
But that should do it for the review on the Durabilt 5/16 inch by 12 foot long transport chain with the grab and the slip hooks..
