Hi everyone. Adam 00:00:01 with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at these SmartStraps retractable ratchet straps. So, what's going to set these apart from most is you don't have any mess. Whatever strap is left, it's going to kind of coil up here so you don't have all that excess flailing in the wind when you're going down the road. Another nice thing about it is whenever we get them undone, it's really easy to get them loose.

Go like this and then we can actually go ahead and it's actually going to retract for us all the way back.So, then we don't really have to worry about cleaning up and keeping these nice and tidy. It's going to do it for us, as you can see here since you're going to use that spring on the inside to suck it all up. So, it's going to make it really easy to store because this ratchet strap, will be able to tie down a lot of different stuff and look how neat it compacts down to.So, we are going to have some steel s hooks with a powder coated finish. So, it's going to be a little less hard than just a straight up metal hook. So, we don't have to worry about damaging our side by side here.

We are going to have about an inch and a quarter wide strap here and they are going to be about 10 feet long.They're going to have a working load limit of about a thousand pounds, but the breaking strength is going to be around 3000. So, we don't have to worry about tying down our side by side here. It's definitely enough strength to get the job done.So, we do have some covers over the ends here, so it's going to be a little bit easier on your hands if you don't have gloves. It also has a grade eight coating, which is going to make this super, super durable and help it resist against rust and corrosion.So, if you guys are in the market for some ratchet straps, go ahead and get some retractable ones. They literally make the job so much easier and storing them away whenever you're not using them.

Very, very neat and orderly. It's super simple and it's just kind of fun. It's just very, very easy and I can tell you in my experience with ratchet straps, I'm not necessarily fond of them, but these I'm a fan of.So the first thing we want to do is find a good spot to tie down our side by side here. I'm actually going to keep the actual ratchet mechanism closer to the side by side. Put it on there, because this is what makes it easy.

You can just pull this out, put it somewhere you want and it's going to keep that tension. See as I pull it off like this, get hooked on. It's going to keep that tension, so I don't have to make, go back and forth, making sure that it's not going to come loose on me.So, once you do that, pretty basic, you start ratcheting it down but before I get it too tight, I'm actually going to go ahead and get the other side secure as well. Same thing for the other side. The biggest benefit to these, I would just say, it just keeps that tension. It automatically just kind of retracts on. So, you don't have to worry about it coming loose. So, if you are doing this by yourself, you don't even have to worry. Now this way I can just sit here and evenly ratchet them down.
