These heavy-duty cargo straps allow you to securely tie down large, heavy equipment in your truck bed or trailer. Flat hooks keep the straps attached to anchor points, and the ratchets makes it easy to tighten down the straps. 10,000 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty tie-down straps let you secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer
  • Sturdy ratchets help you achieve and maintain maximum tension on the straps
    • Release levers disengage the ratchets when you're ready to unload
  • Wide, flat hooks securely connect to anchor points
  • Yellow-dichromate-plated steel resists corrosion
  • Durable polyester webbing

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 2" wide x 27' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 3,300 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 10,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 ratchet straps

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Video Transcript for Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down Strap Review

Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at a heavy-duty ratchet strap from Erickson. Now this is gonna be ideal for those larger loads, really has all the basic features you'd expect from a ratchet strap, and flat hooks on both ends. That way for these flat-stock steel trailers, it do a great job of holding on.Now this is available just in a single or also in a pair, so just be sure to choose the right part number so you get the one you're looking for.Now overall, the ratcheting mechanism is gonna have a really good feel to it. The handle, it's not as wide as some but it still is quite wide. I can get my whole hand in there.

Even if I had gloves on I wouldn't have any problem operating this one. See how releases right here Spring-loaded, easy to get to.Of course with this ratchet strap, in the down position, that's gonna be our locked position. We'll move it up in the middle there. That's where we get our ratcheting effect. And if we open it all the way up, that's gonna release it for us.

So it allows us to get our slack, get our strap unhooked. Then when we're ready to secure it back down, go back to that middle position, and we ratchet it in in place. Get the tension on it that we want and secure that back down. The handle itself's gonna have a hard plastic insert. It's got grooves on it, help get a hold of it and give you plenty of grip. All of the working assemblies on the ratchet handle, you can see have the yellow zinc finish on it.

So this should do an excellent job resisting corrosion, give us years of great service. The strap material itself is gonna be very durable, very malleable so it'll fit around anything we're trying to secure. And I really like you can see on one side it's printed, on the other one it's not. Now this is going to allow us to keep our strap flat. We always want it flat when we feed it into our ratchet, so it can do the job it needs to and it won't get bound up inside. We've got flat steel hooks, and as you can see, those do a great job of getting down and around, holding onto our trailer. Those are also gonna have that yellow zinc finish on it to resist any kind of corrosion.

And if you look closely, something I really like about this, there's an insert right here. That's a rounded insert, so it smooths the area, or rounds off the area, where traditionally our ratchet strap, see how it's pulled on an angle here It would be pulling just against this flat steel. Now that can cause issues, but by adding that, they've eliminated that possibility, and I think this is gonna last much longer than straps that don't have that. Now overall, we have a two-inch-wide strap. It's gonna be 27 feet in length. So this is gonna be an excellent choice when it comes to securing those large loads, or maybe you don't know all the time what you will be hauling, and you'll need something to reach that far if need be. It's also gonna have a 3300-pound safe working load limit. That's the max you'll wanna put load-wise on this strap. And that'll keep just about anything in place, of course. Now this ranger here, the side by side isn't nearly 3300 pounds, but as you can see, we're using a couple straps here. We always recommend using at least two, just to give some redundancy. If one we're to fail, you're gonna have a backup. Now as far as getting a strap installed, it's gonna go, we wanna take our tag in, we'll have our ratchet open. Then we'll slide it through the slot that's in the center of the barrel there. As you see we want that to come through. We're gonna loop it over, and we're gonna push it back out the same side our handle's on, just like that. And then by pulling that end, and you see that's gonna take all that excess strap out of there, get rid of that excess so we can get it ratcheted down properly. Get it to where we get most of our slack out. And then we'll begin to ratchet it down. With that point we'll just need to tidy up our excess here, get any more straps on that you might need, we're gonna be ready to head down the road.

The ratchet straps look very strong, I haven't got to use yet. With the long overall length I think that will be extra handy for securing my compact tractor.

I’m a hotshot truck driver, I ordered 20 of the Erickson 2” ratchet straps for my business. They were over-boxed in the original packaging, delivered UPS, package weight was 103 lbs.

I have been using Erickson ratchet straps for years and they make quality products. Thank you etrailer for a prompt delivery!

  • How is the Working Load Limit Calculated on the Erickson EM58523-09162-4?
I spoke to Erickson and they were very informative. That being said, the Breaking Strength and Working Load Limit will be the same for every manufacturer with the basic rule to ensure safety of 3:1. So with the # EM58523-09162-4 having a breaking strength of 3,300 pounds, the safe working load is therein 1,100 pounds. I did also ask if they had anything similar to these in a higher capacity, but they do not have anything at the moment. The e-track connections do limit the maximum weight...

  • How Can I Secure A Rolling Tool Chest In My Enclosed Trailer
We do have a nice selection of bungee cords and tie-down straps, if you already have a spot where you can anchor them. Personally, I prefer tie-down straps with ratchets. For example, the Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down Straps w Flat Hooks - 2" x 27' - 3,300 lbs - Qty 2, part # EM78527-MS2, which are rated for 3,300 lbs, can secure your rolling tool chest. These straps are 27' long, but we have straps like this in varying lengths. I will include a weblink to our selections below. You can also...
