Simply position the lock around the base of your coupler, with the narrow end of the lock fitted over the coupler bracket near the handle. Then insert the 3/4" diameter steel pin through the holes in the lock and secure the pin in place with the included Master Lock padlock.
For ultimate protection, combine this coupler lock with Blaylock's EZ Lock for gooseneck coupler set screw (BLTL-51-40D - sold separately), which secures your adjustable coupler's inner tube to the outer tube.

Don't have to park a truck in front of it anymore.
After one year, product is still working well. As it is aluminium, there is no issue with rust or corrosion, despite the fact that the trailer sits outside year round. It is also light and easy to attach and remove. In cold and icy winter weather, the lock can freeze up. I recommend using a lock lube spray into the key hole, as well as the small hole in the back of the lock to prevent this.
I purchased the Blaylock Industries EZ Lock Gooseneck Trailer Lock about a year ago. I have occasion to park our trailer in out-of-the-way places. So, having this lock on it gives me peace of mind that someone isn’t just going to back their truck right up and take the trailer! I highly recommend this lock
After a neighbor's flatbed gooseneck trailer was stolen I realized how vulnerable my gooseneck horse trailer was which sits on the verge along the highway. I started calling trailer companies immediately asking for a referral for a foolproof, theft deterrent lock for my trailer. Gooseneck connections are awkward to make theft proof. My search ended when I came upon etrailer.com. I ordered an hl-55 with the lock for that particular setup. It was so easy to use and I do not have to worry anymore about someone with bolt cutters or any other theft equipment. It is lightweight and impenetrable. Ridiculously low price that gives me complete peace of mind. I am thrilled with it and send out a group text to my fellow horse riders to tell them about it. Thank you, thank you!
As always etrailer provided excellent service with arrival on the date promised. I needed the EZ lock as a gift for my buddy's camper as he uses a gooseneck hitch. Easy to apply and appears well made and sturdy. Could likely be gotten off yet it would take some work and likely wake up anyone in the area.
Have never used one, never had the need until now. One thing I'm not happy with in the product is there being a big gap between bottom of goose neck shaft and plate of product. I feel if someone really wanted to take my trailer they would have the correct tool (s) to cut the hooks into. I hope it doesn't happen. Service was great and shipping very quick.
This lock works very well and will hopefully reduce the chance of a stolen trailer. The aluminum construction prevents any rust to maintain the good appearance.
