Each hook on these sturdy tie-downs has a built-in safety cap that helps the hook stay connected to anchor points. Ratchets make it easy to tighten down the straps, and the ribbed plastic handles provide a comfortable grip. 1,300 lbs Max load.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number EM01416. These are the Erickson Ratchet Tie Down Straps. They're going to have the safety hook caps on them. Tie downs are going to be perfect for securing your gear. Whether it's in your truck bed, trailer, cargo carrier, or roof rack. You can also use these to secure things to your trailer.
Like your boat, ATV, or UTV. It's going to have a total of 4 straps. The exposed end of the straps is going to run through the ratchet mechanism. I'll show you how to do that here in a moment. the ratchet mechanisms are what make it really easy to tighten down the straps over the gear and maintain tension on the straps. They're going to have the really nice release levers.
Very easy to access right there. That's going to allow you to disengage the ratchets when you're ready to unload. Now you can see here that all of our hooks are going to have a safety cap. Now this is going to help prevent the hooks from disconnection from our anchor points. They can easily snap on and off of the end of each hook, that way you can give it around the anchor point and then secure it.
That's just a really nice design to have, because when we're tightening down our ratchets, we don't want that to pop off. Now, another neat feature about the built-in cap is you can hook one end to your trailer, place it over your gear, and hook the other end up as well without having to have somebody on the other side of the strap applying tension to make sure that one side doesn't disconnect before you're actually readying ratchet down the strap and tighten it over your gear. It's got a nice design when it comes to the ratchet handles. It's got a nice rubber-like coating on it so you can get a really good grip on there when you're ready to tighten down the straps. All the S hooks on this system are going to be coated. That way, it's going to help prevent any type of scratches on your gear or vehicle or trailer. Now the straps dimensions.
That's going to give us a measurement of 1 inch wide. They're going to give us a total length of 15 feet long. It's going to offer a safe working load limit of 433 pounds with a maximum load or break strength of 1,300 pounds. Please keep in mind that tie downs straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. You want to make sure that the weight of the secured cargo does not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. When you're ready to install the straps into the ratchet mechanism, I find it easiest to go ahead and open up the ratchet mechanism, we're going to go ahead and grab the exposed end of one of our straps here. Now I'll show you how to run that through the ratchet. Inside here, you can see it's got a little slot. We're going to want to take our strap, place it through that slot, and then just make a U-turn with it and bring it back over that mechanism, and then pull it back. At this point, you'd want to go ahead and hook the hooks to your anchor point, get the strap as tight as you can over your gear, and then you can finish tightening that over you cargo, simply by using the ratchet mechanism. Again, that's going to apply the tension and it's going to hold the tension. Now, to release the strap, you're going to pull up the lever all the way and that's going to have the mechanism in an open position, so then you can disengage the ratchet mechanism and pull the strap out and get ready to unhook your load. That's going to do it for today's review of part number EM01416. These are the Erickson Ratchet Tie Down Straps with the Safety Hooks. .

Still happy with the product but don’t use it much any more. Now live 1/2 mile from the lake and NEVER moving again! Carry one in the Jeep and one in the truck for trips to Lowes.
