Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.
Use this durable, ratcheting strap to help secure your cargo. Each end of the logistics strap has a vinyl-coated steel hook that can be attached to a tie-down anchor or hooked onto a ledge.
The ratchet cinches the strap down tightly around your load and locks the strap in place. The hardware is zinc plated to resist corrosion. A hook-and-loop tie (similar to Velcro) helps to secure any extra strap length so that the excess strap doesn't flap in the wind as you travel down the road.

Today, we'll be taking a look at the Snap-Loc S-Hook Tie-Down Strap with Ratchet rated at 2500 pounds, part number SLLS18RSR. This Snap-Loc Ratcheting Tie-Down has a wide variety of uses, from whether you're using it to secure gear or cargo in the bed of a pickup truck or an open or closed trailer. A couple of neat things about this strap is that it has a hook and loop fastener here, which is going to help contain all the hooks and strap together. So when you get finished using it, if you're putting it under the seat of a truck or having it in your trunk or maybe even in a milk crate, its just going to help everything stay contained and not get all tangled up. We can go ahead and undo the strap, unravel it a little bit. The hooks of this strap are made of a heavy duty steel and they do have a nice vinyl coating.
So, if you're securing or hauling any sensitive cargo, if you're wrapping it around the handle bars of a dirt bike or a four-wheeler, you don't want to get scratched up, that vinyl coating is really nice. Another neat thing about it is it has these double patterned stitched seams right here and that's just going to provide a really nice hold of the hook. It's going to be really strong and durable and last you a long time. The actual ratchet of the strap is zinc plated. That's going to help to resist rust and corrosion and give you a lot of use out of the strap. There are two basic things to know of how to work the strap.
It ratchets and when it does that, it actually binds the strap up and tightens it down and there's two levers in the strap. This lever here, on the top side, that's going to allow you to actually open up the strap without ratcheting it and then you can pull the strap tightly or loosen it up without having to ratchet it up. After you have tightened down and secured your gear, if you want to undo it, that's what this little button is for down here. That's actually going to loosen up this barrel here on the inside and allow to you loosen up the strap and undo your cargo. For today we have here in our enclosed trailer we have a generator and some other items that we'll be using the Snap-Loc Ratcheting Tie-Downs to secure. Basically, what we'll do is just get everything unraveled and we'll go ahead and use some of these anchor points that we got built into the trailer to secure our generator.
The strap is already installed in the ratcheting mechanism, so basically all you'll need to do is pull it tight or adjust the length as needed. What we'll do is we'll just simply attach the one end of the strap to one of our anchor points. I'm going to bring the strap around my generator here, secure it to this other attachment point. Now that we got the strap in place, basically what I'm going to do is just lift up on this button, which is going to allow us to fold it over and then we can use its nice handle here simply to start cranking it down. Now what we can do is just use this hook and loop strap here to secure the excess. If we we're in our pickup truck bed or an open trailer, we wouldn't want this strap flapping around as the fibers would start to fade out, which is going to reduce the overall lifespan of the strap.
If you're wanting to undo the strap and remove the cargo from wherever youre hauling it to, what you'll do is you'll push forward on this little tab. You can use the handle to put . use your thumb to put pressure on it. That's going to allow us to unfold it. Youll get to that position and itll pop loose and then you'll be able to just pull the strap out, undo your S -hooks and this case we'll be able to take generator down and fire up all of our toys. The strap measures one inch wide by eight feet long. It has a maximum load brake strength of 2500 pounds, with a safe working load limit of 833 pounds. It is WSTDA certified and comes with a one year limited warranty. That will complete today's review of the Snap-Loc Ratcheting S-Hook Tie-Down Strap, part number SLLS18RSR. .

They do the job well. Also have a 2 inch pair of SnapLocs w/o hooks to tie stuff to my roof rails. I am a big fan of SnapLoc. Straps perform well and little things like sewing in a Velcro strip to secure excess strap set SnapLocs apart.
