Video Transcript for Valterra RV Sewer - Waste Valves - T68 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Valterra Double RV Waste Valve. This RV heel inlet combines an inch and a half waste valve and a three inch waste valve. It can be used as a replacement part or an upgraded part for your existing system. The elbow heel inlet merges the flow of waste from your black water tank and gray water tank. The unit's gonna feature rotating valves and that's gonna offer easy access at the mounting locations. You can actually position these valves to where you need them.

They rotate around the unit 360 degrees, so you can get the handle to where you need it. Each one rotates the same so they both feature that rotating feature, which is a really great feature of the unit, you can position the valves at the desired angle for your installation and for easy access. They feature internal seals that are gonna offer leak-proof performance. The three inch hub slides over your RV's black water pipe. The inch and a half hub slides over your gray water pipe. And then right here, you're gonna have the bayonet style cap that covers the lug fitting, when you don't have anything connected, when it's not in use.

The cap does feature an internal seal, which keeps the unit from leaking and dripping. The integrated strap keeps the cap connected to the valve, so that way you don't have to worry about misplacing it or losing it. This is a 4-prong lug fitting that's designed to fit a standard three inch bayonet fitting on the end of a hose. The unit itself is made from a durable, black ABS plastic construction. You will need some ABS solvent cement, that is required for your installation, it is sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The T-handles on the unit allow for easy operation when opening and closing each valve.

I also like that each handle is colored, you have black for the black water tank and gray for the gray water tank. Few measurements to go over with you real quick; the inner diameter here at this connection point, 3 1/2 inches, inner diameter at this connection point, about 1 7/8 to 1 15/16 of an inch, and then the outer diameter at this connection point measures 3 1/2 inches. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Valterra Double RV Waste Valve.

Exact fit to replace the existing valves. High quality product. This is my third purchase from etrailer and all have been promptly shipped and quality products. One order had a missing part from Dexter axle which was not etrailer's fault. When I called I was connected with a very apologetic representative who assured a prompt shipment of the missing part. Additionally, the representative gave me their name and a direct number to reach them should there be further questions or delay with the shipment. The missing piece arrived within a few days. Real customer service which seems so rare these days. I am a very satisfied customer.

  • Valterra T-68 and T-68B Double RV Waste Valves Differences
The part # T68 has a 3 inch and 1-1/2 inch hub that slide OVER a water line whereas the part # T68B has a spigot of the same size that slides INTO a water line. So the differences are basically do you need a male or a female style setup.

  • 3" Hub Fitting On Black Water Tank Valve
Yes, this will fit over a 3" line from your black water tank. You will not need anything between the black water line and the hub except for some Valtera # A05-0303 solvent cement. This assumes that this will put the outlet of your valves where that you need it. Otherwise you may need some PVC parts (nipple and coupler) to extend the location.

  • Recommended Solution When RV Waste Valve Handles Are Hard To Reach
The flanges typically have a gasket between them and the gate valve with a groove in the valve holding them in place. Putting two flanges together with just the gaskets touching each other instead of having an actual groove in the plastic to sit against will most likely leak over time. The safest bet is to cut off the flanges and use some couplings (3" # D50-2935 or 1-1/2" # D50-2933) along with some straight pipe to fill in the gap. You could also check out the cable actuated gate valves...
