Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra DWV "Y" Fitting. This drain waste ventilation fitting allows you to add or replace a Y fitting in your piping system. All of the outlets on the unit are inch and a half hubs. What we're going to do is simply take a measurement of the inner diameter of each one. Inch and a half means that it's designed for standard inch and a half piping, but the internal diameter is about one and seven-eighths of an inch to one and fifteen-sixteenths of an inch. That's going to be the same for each outlet on this fitting. Your inch and a half pipe would slide in here.
That's what a hub is. It receives a spigot. It fits in there, slides in, and then of course, you would want to use the appropriate bonding materials to ensure a nice, tight fit, as well as leak proof performance. This fitting is made from a durable black ABS plastic construction. It is IAPMO listed to ASTM and CSA standards. I'm going to give you an edge-to-edge measurement of the overall length.
That's going to give us a measurement of about four and seven-eighths of an inch to four and fifteen-sixteenths of an inch, right in that area. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra DWV "Y" Fitting.
