Easily determine height adjustments required to level your trailer front to back with this bubble level. Flip it out for side-to-side leveling. Twist the rotating dial to remember the correct coupler height for connecting to your tow vehicle.

Features:

  • Bubble level helps you level your RV or trailer when parking or adjusting landing gear
  • Flip-out function allows for simple front-to-back and side-to-side leveling
    • Installs flush to trailer for front-to-back leveling
    • Flips out 90 degrees for side-to-side leveling
  • Rotating dial offers hitch height memory
    • To set memory, raise trailer until it's at correct height to connect with hitch and then twist dial until bubble is centered
    • When it's time to connect to tow vehicle, jack up trailer until the bubble in the dial is centered
  • Hardware included
  • Dimensions: 4" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" deep

Hitch Height Memory

To set the hitch height memory, raise the trailer until it's at the correct height to connect with your hitch. Then twist the dial on the level until the bubble is centered.

Now whenever you need to connect to your tow vehicle, you can jack up your trailer until the bubble in the dial is centered. When the bubble is centered, you know that your trailer's coupler is at the correct height to connect to your hitch.

Front-to-Back or Side-to-Side Leveling

This two-way level helps you level your RV or trailer front to back and side to side. Simply mount the level to the exterior of your RV or trailer, making sure to position the level horizontally. Install the level on either side of your RV or trailer for front-to-back leveling.

When you are ready to level side to side, flip the level out 90 degrees.

Your trailer or RV will be level when the bubble is centered between the markings on the level in both positions (flush against the trailer and flipped out).

Video Transcript for Review of Hopkins Tools - 90 Degree Swing Out Level - HM05515

Hey everybody, I'm Ellen 00:00:02 here at etrailer.com, and today we'll be taking a look at the Hopkins Level+Plus trailer level with Memory. Now, this is going to be a pretty easy tool to use. It's going to help you get your trailer leveled up, and also help to make it easy to find the right height when you go to uncouple your trailer from where it's docked. So it does swing out away from your trailer, so you can get that leveled side to side, as well as front to back. Basically, the way it works is whenever you first install this, you want to make sure that your travel trailer is level. And then install it with the level there at the bottom, sitting in the middle, that little bubble.

And then whenever you go to hook up to your trailer, you'll lift it all the way up, and then set this dial at the top so that it's sitting level, and then you'll know how high you need to lift your trailer to get it off of that ball.So it makes it easy there. Also, again, helps to level out your trailer, so you can get everything dialed in. Comes with some screws to mount it up as well. So it'll go onto the little backing plate, and there are two holes at the bottom if you wanted to mount it there instead. So if you wanted to put one of the hole, or one of the bolts through there, and then another one through there, and then a third at the top, you can do that as well. Now, some of our customers have said that this is a little bit difficult to use, since this top dial can actually be a little bit finicky.

It's pretty sensitive to get it to sit in the middle there. And the bottom, some customers said that it was actually not sensitive enough. So some issues with that. And then it's really just made of a plastic housing. On the back it says that it has numbers on the front. That was actually an older design that they've now updated, and it doesn't have the numbers anymore to indicate how many inches you need to adjust side side-to-side.

So some things you can keep in mind, I think that levels in general, you're going to have a few issues. A lot of people we're saying that since their trailer doesn't have a completely flat side, it makes it hard to use this. But that's probably going to be an issue with just about any level you'd use out there. The plastic housing, obviously, it's not the most sturdy option. One customer said that he noticed that this was actually starting to flip out while he was on the road, and it would just be kind of hanging there open, and then eventually it just disappeared. It probably fell off somewhere on the road, because this hinge is just made out of plastic.

So you kind of get what you pay for there. But I think as far as an easy tool, a lot of our customers really like it. They say that it worked out well, and that it does the job for them. The flip out option is pretty unique. Not a lot of other levels have that ability. So that's cool there, that you could have both front and back. But you just want to be careful whenever you're installing it, take your time, make sure that you get everything nice and leveled out on your trailer, so that it makes it easier whenever you go to actually use it. And then, if it was mine, knowing that it has a tendency to flip out, I might put something over the front, maybe even just a little piece of tape or something, to keep it from flipping out unwarranted. Or maybe some like hook and loop material, something like that, to just stick on either side in there, just to keep it closed. So some options there. But, just want you to be aware of those issues that our customers have alerted us to.We do have some other options available as far as trailer levels. So you might check those out and they might work out better for you. But this guy should work out for most applications, especially if your trailer is flat on the sides. And I do like that this can be turned so that you can get that memory function in. Now, as far as the dimensions of this. now hope if I flipped it around the other side. It is about four and three quarter inches tall, maybe four and seven eighths there. And then, if we just go to the level portion away from the bracket. It's about a four and an eighth inch tall. So this little bracket does add a little bit of height. Front to back, with the level there, it's about two inches wide, and then about three and a quarter inches across.Have our various mounting holes. The screws, like I said, are included. So it's really up to you. I hope this video is helpful in helping you to decide whether or not you need the Hopkins Level+Plus trailer level with Memory..

Bubble level on top is to sensitive. Can nor use as needed

by:

It works good. I can check in two directions and set a memory so I know when the hitch is high enough to get on the ball.

by:

Save your money, this level is not useful. The lower bubble is supposed to aid you in leveling your rig front to back and side to side. It is not sensitive enough to level accurately. The upper bubble is on an adjustable disc intended for marking the hitch height before unhitching, and then returning to that height when ready to re-hitch. It has the opposite problem -- it is too sensitive to set to zero.

The idea seems like a good one, but the shape of the two bubble tubes, one too curved, the other too straight, make this device useless.

by:

Have seen this in use can’t wait to install it.

by:

I owned one previously. It lasted 13 yrs before it broke from heat and sun damage. Plus in 08 it was less so here's to another 13 yrs with the new one.

Working as prescribed. I use it everytime we go out

by:

I haven’t had a chance to use them

by:

The side of my trailer is slightly angled so this doesn't attach level. Also, like most trailers, the siding is lapped-aluminum so the surface is not flat. Designed for older trails more than new ones. Bought a 1 foot carenters level. Place it on my trailer tounge. Works much better.

This product was as described in the ad. It was shipped and delivered promptly. I have yet to install and use the product but it appears to provide feature that will assist in leveling and hooking up to my travel trailer. The design is both simple and innovative

I wrote this review prior to installing it based on the features it had. After I installed it I was disappointed in its performance. It is very difficult to get shimmed to be accurate in both directions. The movable level to set the hook up height is very sensitive and difficult to set. This is a great concept but the unit is marginally functional. I would now give it one star.

by:

It's a short level but great to use when you're by the landing gear. You can read it while you're unhooking instead of running around to look at your carpenter's level in the doorway.

by:

Have used the level a couple of times. The top level works best if the knob is turned so the lettering is upside down. Otherwise it is very hard to get the bubble centered. It held the correct position and made the hook up to the fifth wheel much easier. Good product for the money.

by:

This product arrived on time and great shape. the packaging was great. I anted this for some time for my RV. I ordered two to have an extra or add to the back side of the RV. I have ordered and received several items from Etrailer. I have never been disappointed with anything I have purchased as far as shipping, packaging, quality and price.

by:

I really like the idea behind this level. I just need to find a good place to mount it on my new camper. I don't want to drill into the outside of the camper so I am still looking for options. I know that once I get it mounted it will be very useful. They provide two different mounting options, bottom of device or back of device.

by:

Great price, works great, take your time with installation and no problems at one year of use

Great the key is getting everything level before mounting

by:

Good product, had one on my previous 5th wheel and will now have one on my new one, shipping wasn't crazy either !

by:

Purchased this leveler to use with our 5th wheel...Just followed the directions and was able to level in 3 minutes! I love this little level...

by:

Sure glad to have a method to know where to raise my 5th wheel for hook up !

by:

I'm still using it and I continue to find it helpful. My only wish is that there could be a way to fine tune it's plumb. There is no allowance for any misalignment error when mounting it.

by:

Great company to do business with. You do not know this until something happens. Our delivery went off into the OZ. They checked up on this and immediately sent another part to replace the missing part. Most companies would not do this. This makes good PR.

by:

Works well, always know where to adjust hitch height to rehook easily.

by:

Makes the trailer level with the truck when pulling, nice and straight!

by:

The product arrived exactly as planned and is exactly as ordered. My only complaint is that the level is very very sensitive. I will order from eTrailer.com again!

by:

Level is really too big and hard to keep the port and starboard level at the level position! Works good in one position, but level changes when you open it up for side to side level.

by:

I loved it at first! I mounted it on the side of my RV. After awhile I noticed that it would open up while driving. Eventually the top half separated and fell off. I thought about ordering another one - but, assumed it would experience the same result.

by:

Great idea but poor execution! I cannot get the adjustable level to stay on center. It is way too sensitive! Don't waist your money on this thing.

by:

I bought it for a gift to give to my brother for his motor home he sold the motorhome because it didn't like the crowds at the campgrounds we have no idea where it's at now
