pure sine wave inverter

This 12V inverter changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using modified sine wave technology, it creates a stepped waveform that simulates AC power. This is perfect for resistive loads like electric heaters and toasters. Plus, the inverter can generate 10,000 starting watts and 5,000 running watts which is a great fit for multiple appliances.

Functions and Features

outlets and terminals on inverter

The inverter includes 4 standard North American outlets for AC loads, positive and negative DC input terminals that connect to your batteries, USB port for charging small electronic devices, and a port for a fixed-mount remote (sold separately).

The system includes a number of safety features. It offers protection from over/under voltage and overloading. The inverter also uses a heat sink process to protect from extreme temperatures, and an internal cooling fan removes excess heat from the unit.

fuse block

For additional safety, installing a fuse between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges. The Go Power 400-amp fuse block (sold separately) works with this unit and uses a slow blow time-delay feature to withstand surge current. This means it can handle short surges over 400 amps without blowing the fuse, which is great for devices with motors that require more energy to start.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed in close proximity to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment. The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank. There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter.

Available Fixed-Mount Remote Provides Easy Control

GP-SWR-A inverter remote

The Go Power GP-HD-R Inverter Remote (sold separately) lets you turn your inverter on and off from inside your RV. It also has a LED which indicates the inverter's status.

I have not yet installed the product i ordered because i am in the commercial repair business and specialize in trucks running expedited freight. I. am replacing a bad unit that was equiped with the truck that is currently on the road. As far as the team at e trailer they have been fantastic with updates on my order and let me know right away that my product was on back order, and continued to give me updates when i would recieve it. And they delivered when promised. I will continue to order from them because of the great customer service i recieved even when a product wasnt in stock.

See what our Experts say about this Go Power RV Inverters

  • Recommended Vent Setup to Cool Enclosed Trailer Mobile Workshop
Even the smallest RV air conditioning units we offer will require 115-volt AC electrical service of at least 11-amps to operate properly. The Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner will draw almost 4000-watts at startup and even once running it will still need close to 1300-watts to operate. Delivering this amount of power via high capacity 12V batteries and an inverter such as the 5000-watt Go Power # 34280179 will be a fairly costly and bulky proposition. Instead what I recommend...

  • Recommended Power Inverter for 800 Watt Microwave
For an 800 watt microwave you would need an inverter with power surpassing that surge max wattage. I recommend the Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles # WC3720 for that application which has a surge power of 2500 watts. You can run other items at the same time with this inverter depending on the wattage of those other items. If you want to be able to run multiple things with high wattage like a small refrigerator or coffee maker at the same time as the microwave, I recommend...

  • Availability of 5,000 Watt Inverter with Automatic Transfer Switch for Remote Cabin
The only 12V 5,000 watt inverter we have available is the Go Power # 34280179. This is an excellent modified sine wave inverter to provide AC power that features built-in safety features to protect your cabin's electrical system and multiple connection points to connect your devices and cables. This particular unit does not have an integrated transfer switch but you can add the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS to your setup. This pre-wired transfer switch will automatically...

  • Does Go Power Heavy Duty Inverter part # 34280179 Have AC Hardwiring Capability
I went through the manual of the Go Power Heavy Duty Inverter part # 34280179 and that is not a knock out plate and it does not have a function. The only way to connect to AC sources is using the plugs that are just to the left of the switch.

  • What Inverter do You Recommend for My 2006 Fleetwood Expedition?
It truly depends on how much wattage you need and how much electronics you need powered in your Fleetwood Expedition 38n. For example, if you have multiple appliances, I recommend the Go Power Heavy-Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter # 34280179. This inverter provides you with 10,000 start up watts and 5,000 running watts that is designed to be used safely with multiple appliances. If you do not need something as powerful, I recommend the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter with...

  • Higher Rated Inverter that Can be Used with 225 Amp Hour Battery Bank
You could go with a 5,000 watt inverter like the part # 34280179 with your battery bank that is rated for 225 AH. Going with an inverter that is rated higher than you need is totally fine as it will still function normally but just at the lowered capacity based on the batteries it's connected to.

  • Installation of Progressive Dynamics # PD4560K18LS8 and Inverter Connection
The Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 60 Amp, # PD4560K18LS8 that you linked to, will provide a full 60 Amps of DC charge to your battery bank. This is to be used with a 50 amp AC inlet such as the SmartPlug RV and Marine Power Inlet, # SM79FR. It is a 2-in-1 AC/DC distribution panel and converter charger that will power systems inside the RV and is compatible with either lithium or lead acid chemistry battery banks. The panel supplies...

  • Go Power Heavy-Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter and Lithium Chemistry Battery Bank
Inverters such as the Go Power Heavy-Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter, # 34280179 draw from the battery bank. They do not care what chemistry the battery bank is only that it is supplying the correct voltage. If you are looking for a combined inverter/charger, such as the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger, 2,000 Watts & 100 Amps - 12V, # 34280055, then you would need to be concerned with matching the battery bank chemistry to the charger. This model is compatible with...
