Availability of 5,000 Watt Inverter with Automatic Transfer Switch for Remote Cabin

Question:

Good morning ?? I am looking to hook up a large inverter from my Honda generator power to a remote island cabin 120 volt electrical system in Canada. Do you offer a 12 volt, 5000 watt inverter and automatic transfer switch assembly so when we shut the generator off at night the cabin can run on the batteries and inverter? My thanks,

Expert Reply:

The only 12V 5,000 watt inverter we have available is the Go Power # 34280179. This is an excellent modified sine wave inverter to provide AC power that features built-in safety features to protect your cabin's electrical system and multiple connection points to connect your devices and cables.

This particular unit does not have an integrated transfer switch but you can add the Go Power Automatic Transfer Switch # 342GPTS to your setup. This pre-wired transfer switch will automatically alternate between two separate AC inputs so that when you disconnect/shut off the generator power will automatically run from inverter/batteries. Then once you have shore power or your generator hooked up it will automatically switch to that as your primary power source.

I have attached a couple short video reviews on these products that you can check out as well.
