Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the JR Products propane hose. Like most of your propane hoses, this is designed to allow your LP gas to flow through so you can power up those propane-powered appliances. This hose is going to connect directly to your LP gas cylinder and your regulator on your RV or travel trailer. There are a few things that I would suggest that you focus in on in your search for a propane hose. The first thing is going to be the length.
Obviously, you want it to be able to reach from your tank to your regulator. This hose is three feet long, so as long as you're tank and regulator are less than three feet apart, you should be good. This hose is a rubber hose, so that rubber construction is going to make it very flexible and durable. It's going to resist any kinks or cracking, anything like that, so it should hold up very well. The hose has an inner diameter of a quarter of an inch, which is pretty standard for most of these hoses.
It's going to provide plenty of room for that LP gas to flow through and power up those appliances. The second thing that I'd recommend focusing in on are your fittings. There are lots of different fittings available for propane accessories and hoses, so you want to make sure that you're getting the fittings that you need. This fitting here is our POL connection. This is what's actually going to connect to your LP gas cylinder. It's going to thread onto the inside of your propane tank valve.
Most of your propane tank valves will have an inner threading and an outer threading. This is going to use those inner threadings, so it's going to work with almost all of your LP gas cylinders. They should all be compatible with the POL fitting. You can see the O ring there. That's going to ensure a tight seal on our tank, so that we're not going to have to worry about any gas leaks or anything like that, and it's going to be very easy to get installed. While this is pretty standard, our other fitting is kind of a hit or miss.
When we're dealing with our regulators, some of them use different fittings, so you want to be sure to check to make sure. This is a quarter-inch male inverted flare fitting. The easiest way to tell whether you need a quarter-inch male inverted flare fitting is to go out and look at your regulator. If it's got a gold adapter fitting on it, it's almost always going to use this male inverted flare. That's an easy rule of thumb to check to make sure that you're getting the right fittings for your setup.Keep in mind, this hose is only designed for LP gas, so you shouldn't use any other kind of gas with it or water or anything like that. It is UL as well as CSA-approved, so it's going to hold up to those high-quality standards. You should be able to use it for all of your LP gas needs, and it will do a good job for you. Now, if this isn't the hose that you need, maybe you need a longer hose to get between your regulator and your tank, maybe you've got different fittings, whatever the case may be, I'd encourage you to come take a look at our other options here at etrailer.com. We've got lots of different hoses, different lengths, different fittings. We always want to make sure that you're getting the product that you need to solve your problems, so you can get back to enjoying your time outdoors. That's always our goal. That's going to complete our look at the JR Products propane hose.
