What Are The Weight Limits On The B And W Companion 3000
Question:
I recently bought a used model 3000 companion. I have a 40foot enclosed trailer used for hauling a race car. Fully loaded the trailer weighs in at 14,000 lbs. with a hitch weight of about 2500 lbs. Im think of converting the trailer from ball to a fifth wheel pin so I need not change hitches constantly. Will the 3000 withstand the weight?

You won't have any problems with the companion model 3000. It has a Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) of 18,000 pounds and a Tongue Weight of 4,500 pounds.
We have several options to help you convert to a 5th wheel trailer too. One of those is the Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter - Square - 25,000 lbs # KPG5-Q25.
Or we have the Ram Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter - Round - 30K # KPG5-R30IP.
If you give us the specs on your trailer I can help you get the best parts for what you need.
