Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Bulldog adjustable gooseneck coupler. Now, this gooseneck coupler is strong and it's going to be very durable and easy to use. This features a superior high strength steel construction and a capacity of 20,000 pounds. If you notice, this does have a raw finish, so you will want to prime and paint this after your installation.
And this features a self-centering locking plate that engages with your 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. And even if you miss that ball by just over an inch, the tight ball fit is going to help reduce jarring and rattling. If you notice, this has an easy to grip locking handle that's accessible from any position. Its high profile design is going to make it simple to use even when you're wearing work gloves as I have on right now. And so to release this, you're just going to lift this handle up, bring it over and then that's going to allow you to insert the ball into this coupler.
And then once that ball is in place, you can just then move this handle to the secured or closed position, and it is spring loaded. So if you bring it up and over, you get your ball in place and then just let it go, that's going to drop into place. So very easy to use, very easy to grab onto. This features an easily adjustable design. If you notice, it has a set screw to secure that inner tube and the load bearing pin right here can be easily removed to allow you to make your height adjustment.
So the pin's going to come out very easily. And then you can move this tube to that height adjustment that you are going to need. And then once you have it where you need it, just secure the pin and the clip and you'll be good to go. Now, there are holes in that inner tube that's going to make this very easy to adjust and that's what this pin is actually going to run through to get that height that you need. Now, this does have a range of adjustment of eight inches.
This is SAE compliant. It's going to be a weld-on installation. And the outer tube right here is what you're going to weld directly to your gooseneck trailer. And then the inner tube that we have right here is going to be the part of the unit that's actually going to adjust when you are making that height adjustment, whether it's up or down. Now, let me give you some overall measurements, beginning with the retracted height. So we do currently have this in the retracted position, so measuring from the base all the way to the top of the tube, lining that up there, as you can see, we are sitting right at about 29-1/5 inches. It looks like a little over 29 inches. And then the extended height, adding that eight inches of adjustment is going to be then 37-1/5 inches on that extended height. The shipping was expensive but that’s just how things are now days. I am looking forward to making a new tongue hitch for my 5th wheel camper to convert it to gooseneck. This will work perfectly. I recieved your new gooseneck piece for the repair on my trailer I bought that was built from scratch of an old man that passed away I bought from his window and have not yet had the opportunity to replace the old piece that would not interact with most other gooseneck applications because the pipe was not large enough to fit other applications out there so decided to change it to be compatible with other trailers

I received this gooseneck coupler on time and well packaged with some other small items. The coupler is exactly what I need and just as described in the product description. I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but I have no doubt it will be fine (not too complex of an item to begin with). This is the way all reviews should work. The company has contacted me after a year of using their product. I must say it has worked perfectly it was a very simple conversion it allows me to use a goose neck attachment in the back of my pickup instead of having to install a fifth wheel with all of its grief it was also very inexpensive compared to the price of an adapter kit. Couldnt be more impressed.

Really good product but have to be careful when welding to not get to much penetration or it will barely deform the inside of the tube and you can’t get the inside tube back in.
