Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

1994 Ford Ranger

I ordered this unit after sending one back from a different supplier ,the previous one said it fit my Ranger, well after getting it and checking installation video`s it needed to be cut up and fafbricated, no thanks. The Draw tight from E-trailer fit great, delivery was prompt even with a major snowstorm ,the only hic-cup was I didn`t take off my front bumper, due to a brush guard we welded on years ago but even without taking off the bumper I was able to get it on , heck I didn`t even jack up the truck. A little trim on the bumper trim and some help from my motorcycle jack easy to do , took about an hour and a half looks good , fit great, now its time to attach the snow plow and get my driveway clear.I am also ordering the air bag spring helpers for my little truck and will see how that goes too, thanks to the staff at E-trailer, I`ll be ordering from you again.

It works pretty well, I did some modifications to the piece that slides into the reciever and it snugged it up to the truck better. My truck has a pushbar so a cpl supports helped to make it even more solid, so far so good

Ford Explorer

This is a great addition to my old square body Explorer Sport, the closest thing I can afford to a square body Bronco. Great for moving trailers around the yard or put a hitch mounted bike rack up front and tow your boat or camper behind. Best part was no drilling direct fit and in stock at etrailer!

Perfect fit on a 1996 Ranger Extended Cab 2WD XLT (with front crossmember). Installation is easy. 4 bolts to remove bumper and 4 bolts to remove sway bar. Instructions and hardware are excellent. Budget 1-2 hours to install.

I am sorry that this hitch didnt fit your 95 Ford Ranger. I see that you purchased this last year. Unfortunately, our return policy is only for 60 days. You could always sell it locally.

The product fit like a glove on my 94 Ranger XLT with crossmember. The detailed, accurate information from etrailer staff allowed me to order with confidence. The shipping was timely, and the effort from etrailer staff was enough to bring me back any time I have needs in this area.

After one snowy winter of use, this hitch has proven to be reliable, sturdy, and easy to mount. Worth every penny paid

1997 Ford Ranger

Great product. Simple install with only six bolts total. I recommend having help on hand to hold in position while the bolts are lined up and started. There was a question submitted about the ‘third cross member’. The hitch is notched to clear the cross member structure. The third cross member is not the tie bar. If your truck has the cross member it is located just forward of the tie bar.

Excellent product! Delivery was quick, installation was so easy (took an hour) that I couldn't believe how easy it was. Fit was perfect. If I need anything else I defiantly will check etrailer.com first!

Great customer service and fast shipping hitch is well built and packaged nicely.

  • Is There a Front Mount Trailer Hitch for a 1996 Ford Explorer
I do have options for you but the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65017 that you referenced is designed for a first generation (1991-1994) Ford Explorer. There was a generation change between 1994-1995 which means it is not a direct fit for you. They did not offer a front mount trailer hitch for the second generation (1995-2003) therefore your best option would be to use the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13704 and modify it to make it work for you.
