Installation of Tekonsha T-One Connector
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the body harness up to your car battery and connect the wires per the included instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's 3-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Installation of Tekonsha Brake Controller Adapter
This adapter splices into the 4-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located to the left of the steering column, through a grommet in the engine compartment.
This adapter is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller after splicing into your vehicle's wiring. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

I did have two small missing pieces of hardware, the screw or nut option for grounding at the drivers side tail light were not to be found. I got a 6mm flange nut at the hardware store so no problem. This wiring harness exceeded my expectations. I did not want a 'universal fit' style harness. This harness absolutely fit my 2017 Tacoma like it was right from the factory assembly line. I spent 40 years troubleshooting non-automotive wire harness's on various industrial and military equipment and found the quality of the electrical components used in this harness to be the best available. Highly recommend.

Very straight forward installation. It does take a while to snake the wiring harness from the rear to the battery. My only problem was that the instructions for installing the wiring butt connectors did not state that they needed to be crimped. These were a new type for me, with heat activated sealant, and I assumed that the heat made the connection as well. Live and learn! I chose this wiring harness as it had a 7 pin connector, which plugged into a 7 pin/4 pin socket (etrailer item #40975), which perfectly replaced the OEM blank.

This wiring harness worked perfectly for my 2018 tacoma! The kit came with everything I needed including plenty of zip ties and plastic conduit to make it look professional. The only complaint that I have is that it didn't come with the factory style connector that fits in the bumper. I did purchase that separately and the wires still fit in it the same as the under the bumper connector that came with the kit. This kit fit as it should and was well worth the money for me!

All the wiring and connectors fit perfectly for my 2019 Tacoma. The quality of the harness was very good and I appreciated the small touches like taping the ends of the wires going to the battery to make it easier to run up the body of the truck.
The instructions are not super well written, but watching videos of similar harnesses got me where I needed to go.
A couple complaints are that my kit did not have double sided tape (instructions indicated it should have been included). I also ended up needing longer zip ties in some places since the provided ones were short. The instructions indicated that there would be a ground stud in the drivers side tail light bay, but there was not one. I ended up grounding the harness by attaching it to the vehicle frame, so a self tapping screw would have been a good inclusion.
Lastly many trucks/SUVs have built in spots on the bumpers to simply snap in the port, so I would have liked to see an option to swap out the generic port with one that fit my vehicle (I ended up ordering one separately and used it instead of the included one)

Install went well, penetrating the firewall and connecting to the brake lead where the two hardest parts. Have not towed with it yet or even connected to a trailer, so the verdict is out.
