Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Designed for use with a factory tow package
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection point behind rear bumper
    • Plug in connector
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector
  • Limited 1-year warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Connected to my 04 tahoe (base model) just like it should

by:

This was a quarter of the price that Jeep wanted to sell it to me for and with some personal modifications/additional wiring I now have two versatile means of hooking up my trailer lights!

by:

Easy install, great product - no issues yet. Recommended.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Excellent product and very straightforward to install. Opted for the Curt T-Connector C55515 and will have my dealer flash computer to recognize new configuration. Already used hitch with trailer to haul several heavy items up to about 2000lbs with no trouble whatsoever. Should have got this years ago!

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Fast shipping, easy install, product as described. The only complaint was the need to take the vehicle (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee) to dealer for ECU flash. I know this is not Etrailer's fault so not knocking them. I just hope to save other people time in the future if they think they are just able to plug in and tow.

8/02/2016 Update - replaced the 2014 Grand Cherokee with a 2016 Grand Cherokee, forced dealer to swap the hitch and wiring from old jeep to new jeep as part of the deal. Item still working as described, no complaints.

by:

avalanche owners, easy too install i highly suggest when installing pull the cable through the hitch its open at the end less wire being exposed,(this is from my experience) other than that i am very happy with an troop,Patrick B,an everyone at etrailer.com provided great costumer service i will be buying from them soon.

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Item was great and worked like a charm. Only problem was the vehicle. I used it on a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle came standard with the 7 pin connecter but since it didn't come with the "towing package", the dealer had to reprogram the system to start sending voltage to the vehicle connector.

What was the cost to have the grand cherokee reprogrammed, and how long did the reprogram take?

Burt

Jim the dealer charged $50 and it only took about 10 minutes once they figured out the problem. They spent about 4 hours figure it out tho.

I was not aware at the time i purchased this item that it was not what i needed. The page told me i needed this item to complete my set up so i bought it. little did i know that my vehicle does not have a factory wiring harness so what i bought was useless. I am going to have to return this item. The page should also make it more clear of what you may need before you purchase something and you wait almost 2 weeks for it to arrive. I had to order what i needed else ware to be here when I need it to be.

Thank you for your review. The 2019 Dodge Durango does need a factory towing package to use this wiring harness. Since the 2019 Dodge Durango does not have the factory towing package you will need part Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part C56336.

by:

Plug n Play once you turn on the trailer functions in the computer... dealer wanted $175 to enable the lights. It can be done DIY for around $20.

by:
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question for you please. The hitch itself has been great, but I can't get the wiring harness for the lights to work on the trailer. I'm reading different things online, sounds like my Grand Cherokee may have to be programmed for the lights to work? Are you familiar with that? Is that the case?

Thanks in advance!

by:

I chose the Draw tight Max Frame Trailer Hitch for its known quality, i like it comes powder coated to reduce unsightly rust and to keep that fresh look.
I chose the this hitch for my all around light and heavy duty needs.
The Draw Tight Ball Mount is a quality enhancement to this hitch.
I chose the 2" chrome ball for its quality and appearance.
The Curt C55515 wire connector was the best choice for my lighting needs.

by:
GMC Terrain

The connector was as described ,no splice and simple. Also i ordered one for my Terrain and a class 2 hitch. Although the harness for the car was the wrong part, the customer service dept. took care of it immediately and it fit and installed with ease. The hitch went on with no problems and their videos showed everything you need to do. These guys will get my business from now on. a+++

by:
2017 Dodge Durango

Installation of the T-Connector was extremely easy once I released the lock that held the factory cover in place, however, I don't recall seeing mention of the fact that the dealer has to "flash the ECU" [computer] to enable and turn on the factory wiring harness. I spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting no lights before finding mention of this on the internet and confirmed with a dealership that wanted $160 to do this work.

by:
2006 Ford Ranger

Decent looking product. Would have been even better if it worked as advertised. Does not plug into my 2006 Ranger with tow package. Etrailer.com offered to refund the purchase price minus the original shipping cost, plus I had to foot the bill to ship it back. It would have cost more than it's worth. No thanks, I'll just use the pigtail and hard wire it.

Etrailer customer service was very prompt in responding, not that it did me any good.

by:
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Trailer hitch fit like a glove and looks great. The wiring harness was exact fit and will have to go to the dealer and have the vehicle part of the wiring turned on. Instruction and video on e-trailer helped a lot to determine my needs and installation.

by:
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Works perfectly! Pulled the cover off the existing plug on my 2014 Grand Cherokee (up under the rear of the vehicle) and this plugged right in.

NOTE: You may have to have the computer flashed by the dealer to enable trailer lighting. This cost me about $45 at a local Dodge dealer.

by:
2017 Dodge Durango

Installation went well. You will need to cut the spare tire splash cover. Its made of plastic and was easy to cut in place with a, multi tool saw.
Also the Curt T- wiring harness # C55515 plugged in easy as well.
I would also recommend the mounting bracket # 18144 for a nice clean job.
On the 2017 Durango you will have to have the dealer activate the tow plug (flashing the computer ).

by:
2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Bought this to use on my '03 Trailblazer. Still works good after 1 year of use towing the boat. It even got road tested once since I hadn't plugged it in all the way and it fell out and drug on the ground for a mile or so. :-)

by:

No lights after installation. Don't think it was product's fault. Dealer told me vehicle did not have module for trailer lights, even though it had the connection for your harness. Ugh!

by:

After going to many auto stores trying to track down this wiring harness I finally found it at Etrailer. Had the part in my hands before they said it would arrive. Could not beat the price. Thanks again Etrailer.

Jeep

PERFECT ! What a pleasant experience from the friendly folks i talked to and on to package being deliveried as said by ups to my door step , a perfect fit i put in on by myself about 25 minutes wiring harness work just like a factory installed one.
I did have to take my Jeep back to dealer for a computer program feature update by working fine.
Will rate 100% Great job to all

by:
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Shipped on time. Installed very easily with help from the video tutorial. Works great and easy to connect trailer on and off that is after I went to the dealership so to activate the trailer lights from the computer because I did not have the tow package when I initially bought the car.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 To Connect a Boat Trailer
If you just need the socket portion I recommend the Hopkins # HM40975 and it will allow you to tow your boat trailer with either a 7- or 4-pole plug. It will come with the mounting bracket too. If you need the harness to plug into the frame wiring then use # C55515. The connector plugs directly into your factory tow package port. • Adapting 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2012 Nissan Titan To 4-Pole Connector on Trailer
Your Titan would've been factory equipped either with or without the 7-way trailer connector. If there's indeed a connector on the rear, it would be the 7-way. There's a few ways you can go about doing this. The easiest option would be to adapt the 7-way to work with a 4-pole by using a plug-in adapter like part # PK12716. You could also use the # C55515 that you referenced. You'd unplug the wiring harness from the rear of your 7-way, and plug the # C55515 inline with that connection....
