Adding a 4-Way Trailer Connector to a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that Did Not Come with Tow Package

Question:

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4, Hemi V8. My vehicle did NOT have the factory tow package. I already installed a Curt hitch. I need a wiring adaptor to connect a 4 pin utility trailer no brakes. I think it is the Curt C55515. Is that correct? If so, does it just plug directly into the round wiring plug under the bumper?

All of the trailer wiring harnesses for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee including # C55515 are designed to fit in place of the factory 7-Way. Since your Jeep did not come with a factory 7-Way you may need to have the dealer reprogram the computer to activate the trailer wiring harness. The harness will plug into the connector though.
