Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 To Connect a Boat Trailer
Question:
Im looking for a trailer harness for my 2002 Chevy 1500. I need a 4 prong set up for my boat trailer. There was a connection on my hitch but it broke off some how. If you could email me the right harness part number that would be great. Thanks

If you just need the socket portion I recommend the Hopkins # HM40975 and it will allow you to tow your boat trailer with either a 7- or 4-pole plug. It will come with the mounting bracket too.
If you need the harness to plug into the frame wiring then use # C55515. The connector plugs directly into your factory tow package port.
The wiring configuration is as follows:
Red - Left Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
White - Ground - 10 gauge
Blue - Electric Brakes - 12 gauge
Green - Right Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
Black - Battery - 12 gauge
Brown - Running Lamps - 14 gauge
Yellow - Backup Lamps - 14 gauge
I highly recommend using dielectric grease such as # 11755 to help prevent corrosion from water exposure.
I have included a FAQ and a few videos for you as well.
