Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the JIF Marine Docking Material. This is going to give you that edging material to make sure that no boats are damaged whenever they come in contact with the edge of your dock. So this is going to help to keep everybody safe, keep those boats protected and also help to protect that dock area as well. So this is a pretty long length. It's 10 feet long.
It's pretty big for my little studio here, so just to give you an idea of the feel of this material to make sure it's the right fit for you. It gets the name of having a P shape because if we turn it how it would actually be mounted on your dock, it makes this P shape here, so that's where we get that idea. And then this flap of material is going to go over the top to give that nice edge or roll over the edge there to protect that. I'll give you a little bit of closer view of this.It's fairly flexible, but this still has a pretty good amount of reinforcement. You can see we'll have some little supports inside, so it gives it a pretty stiff feel to that area that our boats would actually be making contact with.
This bottom flap as well is going to be another spot where you can attach some mounting hardware to keep that in place. So it should be pretty easy to secure all along the length there. Now it doesn't come with any mounting hardware, so that is something you'll have to provide on your own. Again, 10 feet long or 120 inches long.The width is about three and a half inches from the top to the bottom, I guess that would actually be the height. And then the depth coming out from where it would be mounted, that is about an inch and a quarter, or actually, it's about an inch and an eighth for that height there.
We have about an inch and a quarter that's going to go over the top edge of the deck as well or the dock. And that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the JIF Marine Edging Material. I am anxious to give you a review on the product. However it will be 30-45 days before it’s installed. 1st observation is the railing is very well designed and seems to be very durable. I will tell you this, I had 3 questions when I called to place order. All 3 questions were not able to be answered properly and were only read from a “script” answer that was on website and also was told “did I look at the video and pics”. I was a bit apprehensive at this point but I place order any way. From the point of ordering, notifications on payment, where the order was at in the process and the punctuality of getting product delivered to me, YOUR COMPANY IS SECOND TO NONE”!!! Absolutely great web site and step by step process of notifying the customer of the status of their order. Just received product today and at this point I could not be happier unless the product was less expensive.

High quality, very substantial, durable materials. It is shipped in a 5' cardboard box, & wrapped in plastic. Before installing it, unpack the 10' sections & allow them to lie flat, so it straighten's out. We are using it for deck edging, over carpeting, in a sheltered area. Very happy with my purchase, & the delivery was prompt.

I was originally given a delivery date of 08/06/22 and then the date of delivery, it was changed to 08/09/22. This cost me a lot of money with my contractor. Product was good though!

- Installation of Jif Marine Dock Edging on Stainless SteelI reached out to Jif Marine and if you use a marine grade adhesive on the # JIF56VR it will likely hold up when paired with the screws on the top. However, this has not been tested so there are no guarantees.

I recommend securing the edging every 12" both on the top and bottom edges with stainless steel screws. The screws should have a large flat head and preferably a torx bit head to reduce the chances of stripping when they need tightened or removed.
