Battery Isolator For 1991 GMC K-250
Question:
I am a bit nervous about the bat isolater working with my 91 gmc K-250. I got the delco adapter kit. But the details were vague. Are the instructions good enough to do the install? And if I put a big load on the 2nd battery in my dump trailer will this unit handle it? Or fry the unit?

The Deka Battery Isolator, part # DW08770 is designed Battery Isolator will allow two batteries in your 1991 GMC K-250 to charge at the same time and will protect the starting battery from being drained by the accessory battery, even under a heavier load. I have attached a drawing that shows how the isolator is installed
Terminal 1 connects to the positive battery terminal of the main battery. The original wire from the alternator to the main battery would be removed from the battery and installed on terminal 1.
Terminal E would connect via a 6 amp breaker to the an ignition circuit that's hot only when the key is switched on.
Terminal A connects to the battery lead on the alternator.
Terminal 2 connects to the positive terminal of the auxiliary battery.
