Amperage Ratings of Deka Battery Isolators DW08770 and DW08771  

Question:

looking on getting a battery isolator for are truck to run multi battery have a 1980 chevy pickup with a 454 my question should the isolator be higher in amps then the alternator is ?? thanks for your time

A battery isolator should be rated for at least the same capacity as the alternator output and the higher-rated battery, but a higher-rated one would be great too as this would tend to potentially improve its durability in your application.

We have several isolators, including the Deka # DW08770 rated for 95-amps and 120-amp-rated # DW08771.
